Will treat your pet like my own!
Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm Emily and I can't wait to be your dog's next best friend! I have 16 years of experience providing house-sitting services for neighbors, clients, and friends. I have my own dog who I love very much, so I know how to provide quality care for your pets. Our pets need to know that they are loved and safe, and I am prepared to give your pets the attention that they deserve! I love being outdoors, and I love it more when I have a dog along. I have a dog of my own, and would love to bring yours along, too. I work most days, but my schedule is flexible, and I have plenty of time in the morning and evening to go for walks and play. I enjoy brisk walks/jogs with my dog and will happily take your dog out for a nice run! I can also provide pet cleanup and grooming services in your home. I can also enforce training with your pet and help teach them new tricks! The times I am available will usually be early in the morning or in the afternoon/evening. I would also be willing to do overnight stays with pets. I graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor's in psychology and I am very responsible. I also have my masters in child clinical psychology from Southern Illinois University. I have experience administering medication, including injections, with my own animals as well as others’ animals. I know that taking meds and injections can be very scary for animals, so I do whatever I need to in order to make them feel safe.
Reviews
Emily was wonderful taking care of my cat. She was very communicative and provided updates for each visit. Highly recommend!
Emily was fantastic house-sitting for us! Our pup is a little overly excitable and anxious, but Emily was great with her and took such great care of her while we were away for a weekend. Would absolutely recommend!
Emily was wonderful! Very communicative and responsive
Emily took excellent care of our 2 cats recently while we travelled. We appreciated her quick responses

Safety, trust & environment
I try to make your pet’s environment as comfortable as possible. I take detailed instructions of the way you care for your pet when you are home so that I can make my care as similar as possible, that way your pet’s routine is kept more or less the same as if you were home. I will happily hang out with your pet, providing company and attention as much as my schedule allows.
Information Emily P. would like to know about your pet
I like to have an initial meeting someplace neutral where your dog won’t feel threatened. Once your dog knows I’m a friend, I’ll have questions for you. What are your dog’s health, diet, and medical needs? How much exercise is best? I can absolutely go for longer rambles if your dog is bouncing off the walls, or shorter walks if your dog is laid back or tires easily. How does your dog do with other dogs? Is the dog park a friend or a foe? What are some favorite activities? Anything you can say that will help your dog have fun with me is great.
A typical day
I make attention and affection my top priority. I also like to make sure every dog gets plenty of exercise and meticulous care. If your dog likes going to dog-friendly businesses for socialization, we’ll do that. There are dog parks near where I live, and plenty of pleasant places to walk and play. I’ll make sure your dog is safe and happy, and will send plenty of pictures and text updates.

Availability
As a student I tend to have a fairly busy schedule on weekdays, but I am still available in the mornings and late afternoon/evenings to provide your pet with the care they need. On weekends my schedule is much more flexible, and I’m happy to lounge around all day with your pet!
