I'm an artist and dog lover, who offers care for your dog in my home. I've had dogs all my life, and grew up raising dogs on a farm in the countryside. My two mini dachshunds are currently with my Mom keeping her company up in Iowa, so, I'm a Doxie Mama without any dogs to snuggle right now. I'm currently only taking small dogs. If you happen to have a small dog, I'm the special dog lady for you, as I'm specifically trained to care for small dogs of all ages, personalities, and even those with health or back issues. I'm excited to to meet you and your precious fur baby! When dogs come to stay in my home, they will enjoy my fenced-in yard and a special playroom designed to fit the needs of playful small dogs. I also have secluded areas where older dogs can rest and have some quiet time, plus a large sofa where all dogs are welcomed to sit and snuggle. I have special stairs for mini dogs to climb up to the sofa and orthopedic memory foam dog beds for them to lounge around in. I know how to safely handle small dogs, keeping in mind their special needs in terms of their sensitive backs and short legs (and small bladders...) :-) The day I was born, my grandpa brought a puppy home to welcome me to the world. Ever since then I've always had a special dog at my side. I have a lifetime full of funny stories, heartfelt moments, and caring experience with my dogs...each one a cherished member of my family and yours will be too! I am very passionate about rescuing animals, and all of my dogs have been rescued from puppy mills, shelters and even the side of the road. My dearest childhood dog had been hit by a car, but my family took her in and she was the best three- legged Beagle that ever lived! My own doxie, Ms. Baby, was saved from a puppy mill where she suffered in unspeakable conditions. Now she lives the good life with Grandma and Facetimes with me every weekend. :-) When I'm not pet-sitting, I love to create. I'm an artist and writer. I paint joyful scenes with bright colors, including pet portraits. There's nothing like capturing the unique expression of a beloved pet. I write books full of art and encouragement, and I love incorporating paintings of animals into them. My first book is called, The Artist's Alphabet, and my second book is called, Wonderful You.
