Pet care experience
I’ve been around dogs and cats all my life, and began informally pet sitting when I was 15 years old. I have worked with a variety of breeds of all different ages and medical conditions, and am comfortable administering oral and topical medication.

We used Emily's house sitting service for about a week and came away very impressed. Emily's an ideal sitter! We have two cats and one (fairly difficult) dog. At our meet and greet Emily was unphased. She handled everything really well while we were gone and was very communicative. It felt like we were in really good hands and we were able to relax knowing that everything and everyone was well taken care of. When we got back, the house was cleaner than it was when we left it and all three pets looked like they had a great time. Would love to work with Emily again!

I have worked with pets of varying needs and abilities, and understand that what is being asked of me can change day to day. That may look like cleaning up accidents when they happen, going on an extra long walk because we have the zoomies, or keeping an eye on poop because someone ate something they shouldn’t have.
Information Emily N. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know if your animal is reactive and what their (known) triggers are ahead of time. I’ve worked with my fair share of reactive dogs, and feel most competent when I’ve had some heads up. I also like to know what behaviors are tolerated (getting up on the couch, etc.) and what behaviors we’re working on (sitting before crossing the road) before beginning work with a dog. :)
A typical day
I have no shame in chasing your dog around with their favorite toy. I play a mean game of tug, fetch, and keep away. I am an expert canine butt-scratcher and subsequent collector of loose dog hair. I always like to walk dogs in green spaces (so many good smells!).

Availability
I am a massage therapist currently waiting for my Illinois licensure to process, so as of now I have almost limitless availability. I only intend on working two days a week once granted a work license, so I would love to fill my free days with critter cuddles.
