Pet care experience
My name is Emily, I'm 25, an experienced vet assistant, I have a BS in animals studies from EKU and I'm a dog lover. Overall, I have about 8 years of experience working with animals. During middle school and high school I regularly volunteered at my local humane society, I have about 6 years experience working on a horse farm, giving medication and injections to large breed animals, and over two years experience as a veterinarian assistant at a major pet hospital in Florence, Ky. I treat and care for other peoples pets as my own, I'm trained in first aid, care for elderly pets and pets with special needs. About two years ago, I started pet sitting for the veterinarians that I work with , I love interacting with different types of breeds of dogs, cats and other animals. I am willing to travel within 20 miles of my apartment to pet sit. If I am pet hosting, my apartment is within walking distance of a park, my apartment complex is pet friendly and I live 5 minutes away from my work. I am dedicated to making sure that your pet gets the love and care that they receive at home.

Emily took incredible care of our baby (85 pound dog). She sent us text messages every day she also sent us pictures. She kept us well informed on how he was doing the 6 days we were gone. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog and our home in Emily's hands. She was very accommodating to all of our dog's routines, and to my anxieties about leaving him. We would highly recommend her!
Emily has changed my life! I used to be so stressed out when I had to leave my dog Tank to go out of town....which was almost every week. He had a lot of anxiety when I left...even though he was at home with other family members. He is extremely attached to me and would go into depression. Now that i found Emily life is so much better! Tank loves to go to Emily's! He loves her dog Summer and all the attention he gets from Emily! He is actually excited when I drop him off! Emily is great at staying in touch while I am gone and always following through on firming up details. She has taken so much stress out of my life because I know Tank is in such good hands when he is with her! Thank you Emily!!
Emily is awesome! She made me feel so safe taking care of my dog. She even took her to the vet and took care of an issue we had been having.
Emily has ALWAYS been more than reliable and trustworthy to watch my senior dog on several occasions. I love the fact that I can leave on a trip knowing that my dog, Tharp will be taken care of just the way I care for him. Tharp is 10 years old and requires multiple medications due to previous knee surgeries and arthritis. Emily has no problem keeping his regiment of medicine, food, and walking at his pace to make sure he remains in optimal health. Being a Veterinary Professional, I strongly recommend Emily without any hesitation, and I know Tharp does too.

Pets must be cat and dog friendly, potty trained and up to date on vaccines and pet must be up to date on flea/heartworm prevention. This only applies for pets staying in my home. If I am pet sitting in your home I only require pet be up to date on rabies vaccine. If pet is allergic to rabies vaccines please inform me of this information. If pet has any allergies I must have a list of allergies and if pet is on medication I must have list of medications and instructions with medications.
A typical day
My pet sitting style is to wake up before work, feed pet, walk/interact with for about 30-45 minutes. If pet needs more attention through out the day, i have the option to take pet to work, but I require that pet is up to date on all vaccines including the bordetella vaccine. Otherwise, pet will be kenneled and checked on every 4-8 hours. After work, I'll do my normal routine of interacting with my own pets. Most of the time I take my dog to the park that is in walking distance of my apartment.
