Little Bear Dog Care

Pet care experience

Hi, My name is Emily! I'm from Delaware and have done dog sitting through Rover.com for quite sometime now and love it. I also have 5+ years in professional pet care. I did a year with Rover before moving to Florida where I worked as a kennel technician, certified professional dog trainer, kennel supervisor and asst kennel manager. I also have a small amount of veterinary experience. I worked with a rescue and fostered dogs for a year. Now that I am back home and am a stay at home mom, I’m excited to use my experience and love of dogs to create my own business as well as work with Rover. I am also very involved with It Takes A Village Animal Rescue. I foster, volunteer, and offer training whenever needed. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover my whole life. I have had a family dog as far back as I remember. My past has shaped my passion for the care and training of dogs. Dogs bring so much love joy loyalty honesty and devotion to life, who wouldn’t want to make it their career. About my yard My back yard is completely fenced in and I have a good view of the whole yard from my kitchen. There are many trees so it's pretty cool and shady on hot summer days and plenty of room to explore. But we also go on pack walks daily, weather permitting. A tired dog is a good dog. My home is a bi or split level home and the entire downstairs is dedicated to my dog care business. There is an indoor playroom, that can also be a private room, and two other open spacious rooms where your pet will sleep, relax and eat in between playtime, walks, hanging around the house and backyard and potty breaks. I have it set up this way in case there’s any pups who don’t like other dogs, if certain dogs don’t get along or owners who don’t want their dog around other dogs. On the other hand, if your dog is not enjoying their room we can and will make any special accommodations necessary to provide a fun and stress free stay. My options are extensive for every pet parent. My experience administering medication is extensive. I can give just about any medication. Including insulin if needed. My certifications include pet CPR and first aide and professional dog trainer. I have also attended and graduated from multiple Cesars Way courses. In Fort Lauderdale and his ranch in California.

Was very nice and communicated with me and sent pictures during my dogs boarding at her home. Problem was once I picked my dog up and took him home, I discovered a 4 inch wound on my dogs neck that was bleeding, leaking puss, and discolored green. The wound wasnt fresh due to the puss and the amount that was spread around his neck.I reached out to her and she was very nonchalant about the issue and didn't know anything about my dogs wound nor did she see anything. An insurance claim was made through Rover and I have to spend a minimum of $250 just to get assistance with Vet bills from Rover. Meanwhile life goes on for everyone and I get stuck with a Vet bill

We always know Alfie will have a fantastic stay with Emily. Thanks to Emily we can travel and have stress-free days knowing Alfie is happy while we are away from him. He isn't sitting at home by himself and we so appreciate Emily for helping us out.

You dog will have their own spacious room where they will sleep, eat and rest. I follow a schedule where your dog will be let out at least 5 times a day, to go for a walk or play outside or to go potty. But, again, if your dog isn’t settling in I can and will make any changes in accommodations to make them more comfortable.

Information Emily M. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences. And I will host non neutered and non spayed dogs as well as females in heat. I would like to know of any behavioral issues, training you would like me to continue while they are here and of course likes or dislikes! If your dog wears an electronic collar please explain how you would like me to expedite the use of it, including: time of day, behaviors it is to be used for, as well as how it is used in terms of collar functions (beep, vibrate and shock) and what levels they are to be set at. There are many different kinds of these collars and they are not to be handled lightly so it’s important to me that clients be as specific as possible. Please let me know if your dog has any allergies as I love to give extra treats from my own stash.

A typical day

Everybody who boards with me will get at least one half hour walk a day, depending on the weather and availability in congruent with influx of business. I also allow one on one play or group play depending on how you dog is with other dogs amd if that’s something you are interested in. All play and dog to dog interactions are supervised.
