I have tons of personal dog experience having grown up with German shorthaired pointers and currently owning a pittie mix and fostering dogs periodically throughout the year. I’ve also professionally cared for hundreds of dogs of all breeds and sizes in their homes and at my house.

In my home dogs are crated when not supervised, provided 24/7 access to water and fed on a schedule as well as walked/pottied on a schedule. While providing care at your home or if walking 2 types of leashes, collars/harnesses, and/or safety backup are connected to the dog to ensure they cannot get out of equipment or if equipment malfunctions during outside time if not in a fenced in yard. Weather accommodations are considered especially during hot days with certain breeds. I also like to take the time to understand the individual dog personality so that I can provide the best care for them and build trust in our relationship.

It is important for me to know how their pet is on a leash (do they pull, are they timid), any reactivity to certain things (bikes, people, dogs), the dogs energy level, any previous training so I can continue to reinforce good habits, and any medical limitations.
A typical day
I like to do a variety of things tailored to what the dog really enjoys including activities such as hikes in the wood, fetch, tug, obedience tricks, sniffing/scent work, hide and seek games, and regular walks.
