Pet care experience
I’ve grown up around dogs and cats my entire life, and that lifetime of experience has given me a deep love and respect for our furry four-legged friends! My work schedules are consistent, and I’d love to spend my free time walking your dogs, providing much-needed potty breaks, and even watching them (and your other furry friends) overnight if need be! I’m available most weekends, and every weekday after 5pm. I’ve had experience with small dogs, medium size dogs, and large dogs; good walkers and not-so-good walkers, bold and shy dogs. I’m a long time volunteer at LHS, and work with their Train-a-Bull program, training the pit bulls in their care. I am used to dealing with big personalities and remaining sensitive to dogs’ individual needs. Emily is so, so wonderful with dogs! She spends much of her free time volunteering and training dogs at the humane society, and she has actually taken over a leadership role in the "Train a Bull" program. In this program, she leads training sessions and helps the fellow volunteers be better dog trainers! Emily has such a gentleness and kindness with dogs, and I could not think of a better person to watch your furry friends! If you choose Emily to care for your sweet dog or dogs, they may even return to you being more well behaved than before! Emily is just that good!!!
Emily has had pets her entire life, with many of her responsibilities focused as round caring for these pets. She has two cats and a tortoise of her own that she takes great care of. Emily is also a trainer with Lexington Humane Society’s Train-A-Bull program, so not only is she well versed in animal care, but she works with our towns neediest animals. She would be a wonderful person to take care of all of your animals, furry or otherwise!

Before pet sitting or walking your dog, I’d like to know if they like other dogs/cats, if they are people friendly or if they’re shy, and how they are on leashes. I’d also like to know if there’s any particular type of commands you use to get their attention, and whether you use treats as a reward for doing what they’re told. All these things will help me be consistent with your dog, and will make the whole process smoother for all involved!
A typical day
I love to play fetch, go on long walks, and give rewards when earned. I will never put your dog in harms way, and will go out of my way to ensure their safe and happy return at the end of our walks.
