Pet care experience
I started volunteering with animal shelters at 14 which quickly progressed to house sitting for families with pets, I worked in childcare for years when my allergies were a little to much for me to work with animals but i never loved anything as much as my work with animals from horses to mice. In the last year my allergies have become almost nonexistent which has allowed me to resume my passion for animals, I have volunteered for two local volunteer run rescues (one geared for cats and bunnies, the other for dogs of all ages) I have been a part of a transport relay for a special needs puppy and started dog sitting in my home for friends as well as fostering.

Emily and her husband are awesome!!! My dog felt at home there and I can tell he was treated with love. The went above and beyond in their care for him. Their home is easy to get to and isn't far from the highway. A great experience overall.

We live in the country with an acre of unfenced property on a quiet street with a communal field with a creek running through it where all of the foster dogs we’ve cared for enjoy running playing and exploring new smells.

Any allergies or things that seem to irritate their tummies, we always have a wide variety of bones and treats at my house so I like to make sure I don’t feed anyone something they are sensitive to. I also like to know the pets bedtime routine so I can keep it as close to it’s normal schedule as possible.
A typical day
We have a neighbor who has cows and chickens at the end of the street and first thing in the morning when the sun is coming up we enjoy walking down and watching them graze or drink from the pond. Two doors up the street is a field that’s longer then a football field and a creek where we live to let our dog run safely away from the street.

I work full time at a daycare/Prek that is on the same street as my house, making it easy for me to watch pets at my house and check on them throughout the day on my breaks.
