Paws and Purrs Paradise: Happy Pet!
Pet care experience
I have dedicated three years to working at veterinary hospitals, collaborating closely with veterinarians to provide compassionate care and treatment for dogs and cats facing various illnesses. I have experience drawing blood, placing catheters, intubating pets, administering vaccines, among other skills. Rest assured, your pets will be in safe, loving hands. In addition to my veterinary background, I am a member of Guiding Eyes For The Blind, where I am a certified raiser/sitter, raising and training puppies to become guide dogs for the blind and visually impaired. My lifelong passion for animals stems from a childhood surrounded by the companionship of cats and dogs, whom I consider some of my bestest friends. Now, as I pursue my aspirations to become a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery, I aim to maintain my strong relationship with animals by pet sitting on the side. This allows pet owners to enjoy vacations and other trips, knowing that their beloved companions are in caring and capable hands.

I don’t think there are enough words to express how wonderful Emily is!! She truly cares about the pets she takes care of and their owners as well. After meeting Emily a couple months ago we knew she was the sitter for us. Our Bowie has gravitated towards her so well over the last couple months so we knew he was going to be in amazing hands for an overnight weekend stay and he sure was!! Emily is truly the best and Bowie loves her so much. We do too! I feel we not only found an amazing pet sitter, but a friend as well!
We’re so excited to have found Emily!! Puntual, patient with our questions & perfect caregiver for our sweet girl!!
Great job taking care of puppy Karl. Was on time, and easy to communicate with. Definitely will be using her service's again.
Emily was so sweet and patient with our rescue dog. We felt 100% comfortable leaving the country knowing that she was caring for our dog. On top of that, she kept our house incredibly clean and tidy. She is the best!!

At my home, I have a tie-out and runner where the dogs can run and play having full access to the yard. Inside the home, they will have full range of the house. We let our husky on the couch and bed, but can abide by any rules you may have as consistency is key! The dogs will never be given table food and will only be allowed dog treats with your permission as I know how sensitive some dog’s stomachs can be. Cuddling, hugs, kisses, and lots of love are always given to the kitties and pups.
Information Emily L. would like to know about your pet
The most important information to know about a dog or cat ahead of time is if they will need any medications and/or home treatments like IV fluids, insulin injections, pill dosing, teeth brushing, etc. It is additionally just as important if not more important to know what kinds of people or animals your dog or cat are comfortable with/afraid of/aggressive with.
A typical day
My boyfriend and I love to hike and explore, so dogs who love the outdoors are our favorite! For dogs who do well with others, we enjoy taking them to the dog park for lots of exercise and mental stimulation. I believe that new smells, sights, and sounds are crucial to their development and confidence in the world.

I currently work a full day's shift Monday through Wednesday. School at URI will begin again on 01/22/24. During my final semester, I will have more flexibility during the day, allowing me to be home with the pets as I have a lighter course load. I can leave work during lunch to let the dogs outside for a bathroom break. On weekends (and Thurs and Fri until school starts up), I have the luxury of spending all day with your pet! :)
