Pet care experience
I grew up with animals my entire life (dogs, cats, horses), and as a student for 6 years and 1 year into my career I have seriously missed spending time with animals! I am not in a living situation to own a pet so I love to take care of others pets for the time being. I have done pet sitting through rover the last 3 years and I have experience with horses through my childhood. I cleaned a horse barn every weekend during highschool and learned how to handle them.

Emily did a great job of taking care of our cat and dog while we were away! She was responsive, sent pictures, and left the house in good order. She was able to accommodate our shy pup and take her on a little socializing adventure too!
Emily is GREAT with animals! The first time I met Emily, she told me all about the animals she grew up with and how much joy they brought her. I would trust Emily fully with a pet because I know she values animal exercise, love, and attention. I am also a pet sitter on occasion and when I cannot watch a pet, Emily is the first person that I reference my clients to.

When staying at a client's home, I am attentive to the pets, can provide walks and play-time, and I make sure to leave the house cleaner than I find it. Because I have grown up with pets and played an active part in taking care of them, I am in-tune to animals behavior.

A typical day
I am an active person so I'd love to take your dog on a hike or walk. I also like to run so if your dog is capable I'd love to go on a run with your dog. One of my favorite things to do is bring a dog to a lake for some swimming in the summer.

Availability
I am a Geologist with the Forest Service in Idaho City, where I also live. During the months of November-May, I have a lot of flexibility with my job to work from home some days. The summer months I have very little capacity for dogsitting because of field work and I am involved with working wildfires. In the winter, I am flexible to work from home a few days a week in the winter, but somedays I need to be in the office so the animals will need to be alone for 9 hours those days.
