Trustworthy, experienced & punctual

Pet care experience

I have three years of professional pet care experience, and I have an abundance of personal pet care experience. I grew up in a household full of animals (dogs, cats, bunnies, rodents, reptiles, horses, and goats), and I was taught how to care for these animals from a young age. During my adult life I have had the pleasure of taking care of my own dog, cat, and guinea pigs. The majority of my professional pet care experience is with dogs, but I am very comfortable and confident in my abilities to care for a multitude of different types of animals. Please do not hesitate to reach out and see if I am the right fit for you and your little loved ones.

Emily is an incredible animal caretaker! My two dogs are perfect, of course, but also have a ton of energy & can be a bit reactive in certain scenarios. From the first meet & greet, Emily asked thoughtful questions about my girls & made me feel at ease with their knowledge of dogs. Since then, they have been great at communicating any concerns as well as offering in depth general updates about my ladies during their visits. Emily is reliable, intuitive, trustworthy & brings so much joy to my sweet girls. I am grateful to have someone I can’t count on to not only show up, but to truly care for my animals!

Emily was absolutely perfect! We could not have asked for a better first time experience with rover. Emily made sure to answer any of our questions prior to her stay and then made sure to send us updates throughout the week. We are so grateful for the care of our fur babies and will be sure to use Emily in the future!

Emily was an absolute dream. She very clearly understands dogs, knowing how to both set boundaries with them while also being loving and gentle. One of our dogs is "particular" and doesn't warm up to just anyone and she loves Emily. I felt completely comfortable with her staying in our home and watching our 2 diva dogs. Great communicator, compassionate, flexible, and very willing to be helpful. Will most certainly use her services again.

Safety, trust & environment

In order to ensure your pets safety, I plan to thoroughly communicate with you before I am left responsible for your animal's care. I want to know exactly what you need from me to make sure your animal is safe. This communication could entail any behavioral concerns you have which may interfere with your pets safety, any other animals in the area to be aware of, specific techniques you use with your animal to deter them from stressors (an example with dogs would be kenneling or puppy push ups), any safety concerns in the environment (for example if you had a cat and a rodent which needed to be kept in separate parts of the home, or a hole in your fence) and anything else you might want to share with me. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Information Emily K. would like to know about your pet

Important information for me to know ahead of time would include your pets basic needs, any special needs your pet may have, and any safety concerns you may have (for example, dietary needs, pet limitations due to age or injury, a weak spot in your fence, etc.)

A typical day

One of my favorite things about working with animals is that (for the most part) we get to do whatever the animal wants or needs, since that's what I'm there for! This is a favorite of mine because what animals want or need usually looks like playing, going for walks/hikes, working on skills like obedience training or new tricks, cuddling, and whatever else we can come up with that's safe and influences your pet positively. Another fun thing is that each animal I meet is different and has a new activity or need for me to attend to.
