As a very compassionate new graduate nurse (RN), I am a highly empathetic and gentle person at heart, and I approach pet care with a loving and nurturing philosophy. I am very good with reading new animals and connecting with them, giving them the time and space they might need to establish safety and warm up to me. Each animal is so special in their own ways- I absolutely love really getting to know them and their distinct personalities, quirks, and needs! I grew up around animals my entire life (dogs, cats, reptiles, guinea pigs), taking responsibility for our family dogs and their care needs as soon as I was old enough to, which included the basic feeding, walking, exercise/play, hygiene (bathing + teeth cleaning), monthly medications, vet check ups, and medical needs. Growing up in Hawaii with a german short-haired pointer, I have spent lots of time being active outdoors, doing loads of hikes and beach days with her. Majority of my pet care experience in my adult life has been caring for my dachshund, who is also a lover of the outdoors. I have experience taking special precautions to protect his back from injury, as he has Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) that required hospitalization and some specialty care during rehabilitation. I love dogs of all breeds and sizes, am highly adaptable, and ready to learn how to best care for your pup! Additionally, I do have extensive experience with dachshunds, their unique personalities, and their physical needs (back injury prevention). Consequently, I am naturally very mindful of proper handling/lifting technique and support! Since making a recent move here to California and being away from my pup, I have been extremely deprived of doggy play time! Needless to say, I am really looking forward to getting to know your pup, giving them my fullest attention, and fulfilling their care needs.
