Pet care experience
Hello, My name is Emily and I would love to walk your dog or spend some quality time with your beloved furry friend. I've grown up with animals my whole life. Taking care of mine and other's pets has always been a joy of mine. Throughout my life I've gotten to own and look after rabbits, dogs, cats, snakes, guinea pigs, and even the occasional spider. I have experience with special needs as well as medical needs animals. Oral and eye medication as well as incontinence and bathing needs. Separation anxiety as well as general anxiety. I'm open to hearing about each individual pets needs to see if I feel confident and comfortable that I'd be able to help them maintain a happy life while under my care. I do prefer to have time to research each animal and breed I encounter to better understand their needs in addition to what owners prefer for their pets care. Owners care instructions will always be paramount. I love doing some basic recall training with dogs. Creating more dynamic games of stay and fetch as the trust and skills build over time so you and your pup can enjoy together this together if you'd wish. I used to do this with my own dogs and they would love it. Owners have been blown away at the surprising simple but useful skills their dogs have learned. I train through repetition only. Treat awards upon owners request/permission. Things as simple as learning to stay, sit, and hold before chasing the ball can easily add a level of excitement to the play. Your dog should have basic skills already in place to be built upon. I am not a replacement to dog training but can definitely work on adding some new tricks or reinforcing previously learned skills. I can't currently have pets so I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time and learning about yours.

I always request my clients provide basic information such as emergency instructions, any special needs or requests in terms of care for their pet. In addition to this knowing their routine (does your dog have a special potty routine or location they absolutely must visit? Let me know!), their animals limits in terms of play/exercise is also essential. When walking animals non busy roads are utilized as much as possible. Avoiding unfamiliar animals and accommodating any special needs your pet may have is key to ensuring a happy excursion. Animals are never let off leash unless in approved by owner designated areas in designated off leash areas. Your animal will be provided an AirTag to wear during all walks both on or off leash. I never expect any issues to arise but I feel it's best to always plan for them and having your fur friend easily located via AirTag tracking is just one of those additional assurances that help everyone rest a little easier. I'll happily send you photo and text updates at the intervals of your preference. My ultimate goal is to keep everyone feeling comfortable, happy, and safe.

Tell me about your pet! Do they get along with other animals? Do they have any fears or triggers for certain behaviors to avoid? Is there any type of activity or adventure they absolutely love? Do they have a specific potty routine I should know that will better help me assess how well they're doing on their walks/visits? Are there other dogs your dog is friends with that we should keep an eye out for? How do they do with strangers? Are they very loving? Or are they more shy? High or low energy? The more you can tell me about your dog and their needs the better.
A typical day
Walking is a regular part of my fitness routine, why not have your dog come along? I'm able to maintain up to 3 hours of exploration walking if an owner so wishes, or alternatively a combination of running/walking. I'm able to currently run for 30 min so if you're pup needs a little extra steam burned off and they're trained (or you would like me to slowly train them over time how to run/job along) I'd be happy to have them jog along with me for a portion of the walk. There are lots of amazing trails & parks to enjoy in this beautiful city. I aim to go along quieter areas with less traffic but lots of wonderful things to see and explore. I do avoid water & other dogs unless authorized by you. Please understand, I never let dogs off leash unless you've given the go ahead and we're within a securely fenced in dogs off leash or permitted area. I also avoid accepting treats from strangers when on walks. If you have alternative treats you'd be ok with your dog having that I can offer them to give to your dog if you're ok with them accepting treats I'm open to doing so. Please, no spike/choke collars. They take years to learn how to use correctly and I'm simply not comfortable with them. I'm more than happy working with your dog to improve their manners on leash and walks without the use of this tool.

Harassment, misconduct, or any type of abuses have a 0 tolerance policy. Thank you. I work from home for my own company and business so my schedule is very flexible. I unfortunately can't have pets in my own home so this is a double bonus for me. I prefer drop ins and walks between 8 am and 8 pm, for in home care my schedule is much more flexible. I am a very active person and can even take your dog for a literal run up to 30 minutes or an interval style run up to 60 minutes.
