Hello! My name is Emily and I love dogs. I'm a recent graduate whose working remotely from home, so I have a fairly flexible, open schedule for walks, drop ins and sittings. I love caring for dogs and other animals in my spare time and have a lot of background experience doing it. For five years I worked with animals at a wildlife rehabilitation center and I also have extensive experience working with dogs via volunteering at various animal shelters. I grew up taking care of my family's labradoodle named Lucy. I loved to teach her different tricks, and she learned over 14 different commands! I've also rescued and fostered a heart worm positive dog, and through that experience gained a lot of knowledge about caring for a special needs dog. Currently instead of being around dogs, I've been living with my partner's cat, Parsley. I've been using what I know about dog training and animal psychology to teach him tricks. He can do about 6 different tricks now, including sit, hug, high five, jump and more. Parsley has definitely shown me that I'm not just a dog person and a cat can learn new tricks! On walks with your dog (or dogs) I promote good behavior and try my best to tire your dog out. I can also suggest training advice and tools if you'd like. On hot days, I bring ice water, and a bowl on my walks and try to stick to shady areas when possible. You can rely on me to make the most of the walk time, you won't be disappointed! As for sittings I am very diligent in making sure your dog has the best care while you're away. Depending on your location, I can drive your dog to go on short hikes or have fun with your dog on walks around your neighborhood. I'll be sure to send daily updates as I know how it can feel to leave your dog behind while on vacation. Last but not least, just as a precaution for myself and the owner, I will wear a mask when meeting with owners (and on walks!), and sanitize my hands before walks. I'm also fully vaccinated!
