Love and care from nose to tail!
Pet care experience
Since a very young age I have been responsible for pets. I have grown up in a household with at least 2 dogs (at one time 10 pets!). As a teenager my first job was a pet-sitter for neighborhood friends and family. Later, during college, I worked part time as a sitter for 2 Rottweilers each having specific care instructions, including radiation treatment for one of them. I also have 2 out-of-state clients who I have known for over 5 years that use me for extended vacations! Finding fulfillment in caring for pets, I have made it my career. I work during the day as a dog walker in Philly. As anyone with a furry friend knows, they all have their quirks! I have 7 clients with reactive, stubborn, easily frightened or impaired pets. I have a beautiful boarder collie/lab mix and rowdy great dane of my own. I understand the stress of finding someone trustworthy and reliable to accept the responsibility of caring for my furry family. Hopefully, I can alleviate any worries you have!
Reviews
Thanks for the updates when you check in on our pups. We love the communication!
Emily does a great job checking in on our two dogs, one of which is a Great Dane! Emily has great communication, too. Thanks Emily!
Emily has a dog of her own (5 yrs old) and has a VERY dog-centric family with 3 more large dogs that she cares for regularly. They respond to her better than her family with her approach and caring nature. She would care for any four legged family members with the same passion as if they were her own. If she could, she would run a shelter to take care of as many dogs as humanly possible and it would be her graceland :)

Safety, trust & environment
Generally, I keep a house key on me at all times, keep the door locked weather I am home or leaving and check exit points before letting pups loose (including gates). I try to keep the house exactly as it was when I arrived (or cleaner). However, I always appreciate instruction to help me understand how to best care for your home and pets. I once kitty sat and to my surprise the cats LOVED to drink water out of cups. I learned to carry a water bottle with me after they knocked over a glass!
Information Emily H. would like to know about your pet
If your pet has 'special traits' like being reactive, fearful or maybe just like to take their time on walk - let me know! I do not shy away from a pup that may be a little difficult but the last thing I want to do is be unprepared. For your dogs safety, I do not allow dogs to interact with other animals or humans while on walks.
A typical day
I have raised 2 puppies. Having a bored dog means having a bad day! I like to visit parks, with lots of good smells and sounds. At home games like tug, fetch or hide-and-seek are also lots of fun! The thing that used to wear my dogs down the most was training, if you have anything you want me to work on with your pet, please let me know. I would be happy to help!

Availability
I have a fairly flexible schedule, and work part time during the week, usually 11am-2pm give or take an hour. With proper planning, I'd be happy to make room for your needs!
