Pet care experience
Six years of Rover and counting! We are an energetic family of 8 (mom and dad plus 6 kids ages 5-22 yrs) who homeschool and are mostly home during the day. After 15 years of owning dogs and cats, we are currently pet-free in a large home in Papillion with a big fenced yard. Because we are a homeschooling family, taking good care of your pet will be part of the lesson plan; a daily walk weather permitting, playing in the yard, going on errands in the car, trips to the park in good weather, and little boys to snuggle to sleep with are part of the fun. Also available for doggie daycare, cat and dog drop-ins very close by, and caring for caged pets. Overnights are calculated in 24 hour increments. If you need to drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon or evening, day care rates will apply. Pick up/drop off hours are 8am-9pm. Please clarify what time you plan to drop off and pick up at the time of booking to avoid any overlap with another client.
Reviews
Emily was great with our three cats, making sure they each got some special attention each visit (and some snacks). She sent us pictures and visit summaries to make sure we were kept up to date on everything. We'll be booking with Emily for the next time we need cat-sitting.
Emily and Jim take such good care of my dog, I have peace of mind that all of his needs are being met. He looks forward to his stays Emily & Jim :)
Emily is always so phenomenal! Her flexibility with our chaotic schedule, and her attention to detail, are unparalleled. We are profoundly grateful for the love she gives our kitties, and the peace of mind she provides!
We have a senior min pin with health issues. We had boarded her once at a kennel which was a disaster. Leaving Mia with Emily gave us peace of mind and we were able to enjoy our vacation. We had complete confidence in her ability to address Mia's challenges. When we picked her up we could tell it had been a positive experience for her. We would totally book again.

We have a 5 foot fence in the backyard and the deck has 4 stairs down to the grass. For drop ins, it might be occasionally necessary for the younger children to come along. Pets that live with kids or have frequent and continual contact with young children fit our family best.

Information Emily & Jim H. would like to know about your pet
Your dog(s) must be tolerant of the attentions of younger children. People are always coming and going--we would not be the right family for a dog who is averse to lots of movement and loud noise. Dogs must be ok with being crated for short periods of time when we are all out, and pups that know to potty when allowed into the backyard fit our lifestyle. Unfortunately dogs who like to find inedibles like socks, nerf darts, shoes, and stuffed animals to chew will not be a good fit for our household at this time, and likewise we can not offer care to puppies in our home at this time.
A typical day
Emily and the kids like to hike and visit the park as part of our homeschooling day. Family-friendly neighborhood and older kids means lots of opportunities for walks. Short trips in the car to take kids to and from their activities round out the experience.
