Animal Welfare & Behaviour Graduate

Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs and cats all my life with my passion for animals growing, and since completing my animal behaviour & welfare degree with a 2:1. Alongside this I have had years of experience with animals and more recently completed a years placement in a dogs & cats rescue centre before becoming an animal care assistant post graduation within an animal hospital. This makes me reliable and trustworthy in the care of your pets, understanding their needs and unique personalities!

Emily has a degree in Animal welfare and behaviour so is well qualified to look after cats and dogs. She worked at an animal shelter as part of her degree for a year, caring for cats and dogs and walking a wide range of breeds. She also has her own miniature schnauzer dog and British short hair cat at home so has plenty of hands on experience and will take great care of your animals.

Safety, trust & environment

I have experience with transporting/moving dogs as this was part of my previous job. I’ve worked with dogs of all behaviour needs through my experience in the rescue centre with lead walks and restraints. This goes hand in hand with being able to recognised the emotion of your dog and reacting appropriately.

Information Emily H. would like to know about your pet

It is important to gain an overview of your dogs behaviour to assure they are not put in an uncomfortable situation for them or others around them. From here their walk and care can be specific to them, whether that’s on a solo walk away from the crowds or a group walk to help their social skills. Every meet will be tailored to them! Other important information include how they are on the lead, whether they have an on lead/off lead walk, how they react to the car etc.

A typical day

I am all about putting your dog first, whether your dog enjoys sniffing the new surrounding smells or playing fetch they will be catered too and never rushed! Having a dog myself I like to take him on walks where he really gets to explore and enjoy the area as we all know it’s their favourite part of the day!
