One Family dog(s) at a Time!

Pet care experience

Our black lab passed away and was not replaceable. So your dog(s) will rule in my house instead! We have no other dogs or pets so there's no competition for attention or territorial issues. I host dogs from one family at a time! Your dog have the whole house and yard to roam and explore. We have a 4 bedroom house in a very safe & quiet cul-de-sac by Cal-Lutheran Univ in Wildwood area in Thousand Oaks. We are empty nesters and husband loves to play with dogs after work. Your pooch will have lots of love and attention from us. Since I only board dog(s) from one family at a time, I'm able to pay very close attention to each dog. They are under close supervision inside and outside the house. We have a 5-feet concrete fence with many fruit trees in the front & backyards. Many dogs will help themselves to our organic produce before we do! Your dogs will be protected from any danger from other people and animals during their walks. I sleep by your dog and I will be with your dog's constant companion. I rearrange my schedule so that I do not leave your dog(s) alone much except for Sunday mornings and some Tue evenings for meetings. Most of the time, someone will be with your dog(s). He/she will know that they are loved and cared for when they are here. I can do training on basic commands upon request. I'm fully capable of giving oral or subdural medications and eye drops. With your permission, I provide fresh live probiotics (free) for your dogs for skin and food allergies, stress reduction and boost their immune system. I also give them Willard's water and alkaline water to help them detox. I play dog relaxing music or healing music for them to calm their nerves. Usually by the time they've been here 2 to 3 times, they are very comfortable with our routines and makes our house their home away from home. I usually walk the dog(s) at least once a day, either early in the morning and/or early evening before dark. NOTE: Rover nightly rate is for a 24 HOUR PERIOD. Additional hours beyond 24 hours is $10/hr, max 5 hours/day for the best rate. Rates will be adjusted manually according to your needs, NOT what Rover have set up. Drop off and pick up between the hours of 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM Additional Services: Drop-in visits available when within 5 miles radius from my home. About me: I'm home full-time and my family adores dogs. We have been dog sitters and dog walkers for 15+ years. We live at the end of the cul-de-sac so it's very secure and safe. We have a 2 story house and a yard with lots of fruit trees & herbs. I'm home full-time so I will be with your dog practically 24/7. I will be your dog's constant companion, reducing any anxiety or stress while you're away. I limit my out of home activities when I'm watching dogs, giving them my full attention. We had a black lab many years ago but have not replaced her since her passing. Now, we just enjoy other people's dogs. Your dog will have lots of love & attention and plenty of play time from everyone in the family. He/she will have the best care away from you. Their daily behaviors and well-being are noted to make sure they have no health or emotional issues while under my care. I am very proud to provide exceptional care for your precious pooch. Please make sure your dog(s) are recently bathed and groomed to avoid any health issues. I'm terribly allergic to fleas so cannot accept any dogs with flea issues. I have a background in biochemistry & molecular biology. I am a certified functional nutritionist and holistic health coach. I manufacture and sell live probiotic beverages. My other interests are gardening, real estate, cryptocurrencies. holistic canine health and nutrition. Why I love dog sitting - We are animal lovers. Besides dogs, we've had small & large birds, salt & freshwater aquariums, pet rats, hamsters, and chinchillas. We had a black lab that passed away before we moved to Thousand Oaks ~24 yrs ago. Since then, we've been dog sitting for friends and neighbors. We found joy in providing great care for dogs while owners can be relaxed and know their pet is in a safe and caring environment. This is a great way to continue to enjoy the companionship of dog(s). We are trustworthy and dependable people. We live a very quiet and peaceful life. No parties, no loud music etc. We love dogs because they are a wonderful creatures from God for us to enjoy! I provide FREE probiotics for all the dogs that are in my care when needed. This helps tremendously when the dogs have issues particularly allergies and digestive issues, and even cancer. I also provide alkaline anti-oxidant water to support detox their liver & kidneys. Your dog will be in a very clean and healthy environment while in my care. Meet my Pets We do not have any pets. Our environment is quiet and peaceful. We don't have parties or have a lot of traffic in the house. Please have your dog(s) recently bathed, groomed, all vaccination updated before the stay. I cannot accept dogs with fleas. About my yard - We have small/medium sized fenced backyard with grassy areas and lots of fruit trees & herbs. There is space to roam around, explore, and play fetch. Since we live at the end of a cul-de-sac street, it's a quiet and secure neighborhood. Your dog will always be on a leash when we go outside in the front yard and walks. Your dog is usually indoor with me when I'm inside, but if they prefer outside, they are free to enjoy the backyard. When no one is home, the dog is usually left inside. Please bring dog food and treats, dog toys, bed & blankets, and crate to help your dog feel at home. Before the stay - Although dogs cannot speak human language, they do understand and know about their routines and know that you are going on a trip. It would be ESSENTIAL for you to let me know your dog's daily routine, eating & bathroom habits, words they know, etc. on Rover dog profile so that I can best serve their needs. Your dog will try to tell me what to do but since I don't know their routine, I need your help. I will request additional dog information before the stay. Also, before their stay, please tell your dog that you are going away but will be back. A meet and greet is a very important step to help ease the stress of a trip, so that they will not be shocked to be left with a stranger at a strange place. Your dog(s) will become more and more comfortable at my home with each stay. It will become their home away from home and they will be more relaxed and less anxious about being away from you. I only host dog(s) from one family at a time so please let me know your approximate time of drop-off and pick-up at booking time so that I can arrange my time accordingly. Thank you and God bless!

Emily was really great with my nervous rescue dog who has a really hard time around strangers. She stayed the night and Emily was very patient and calm with her. It’s always hard bringing her to a new place, but I think this was the right fit for her and I look forward to having her stay again.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks - All dogs need some amount of daily exercise, esp. while you are away because they are more stressed and anxious. By having daily walks, it builds bonds and de-stress and distract your pet from missing you. Depending on your dog's response, I typically go through our neighborhood streets, sometimes to the playing field by Wildwood Park. If your dog is able and willing for more strenuous exercise, we hike up into the neighborhoods on Wildwood Ave. usually takes 45-55 min. Please let me know if you allow me to take your dog in car rides. At least one walk will be included in all stay (overnight or day care). If your dog enjoys fetching or tug-a-war, or any other activities, please let me know. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep downstairs. I may sleep on the couch next to the dog if not crated. This depends on the what's best for the dog. Time I'll spend with your dog - I try not to go many places when I'm watching your dog. I will be gone on Sunday mornings for church and work outs on M, W & Sa for ~1 hours. Other than that, your pooch will be with me or a family member 24/7. Please bring your dogs favorite toys, bedding, food and treats. There will not be other dogs while I'm watching yours.
