Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Emily. I’m a Northern Virginia native, proud ASPCA supporter, and animal welfare activist. For nearly a decade, I’ve driven support to many local and national animal welfare organizations as a nonprofit fundraiser. In addition, I’ve personally rescued dogs and rabbits, and taken care of a wide variety of animals. At the moment my husband and I have two rescue companions - a chihuahua-terrier mix, Meeko, and a beautiful lop-eared bunny, Fergie. They have my heart and soul! Animals give us their all and I think they deserve the very best from us in return. That’s why I provide top-notch care to each and every client. Sincerely committed to compassionate, excellent care, I will treat your babies as my own and be an amazing fur mama while you’re away.
Reviews
Emily was a great cat sitter for our two cats! It was so comforting having her take care of them while we were gone. She is so friendly and very attentive to our cats’ needs. Her updates and pictures she shared while we were gone were thoughtful and detailed. We would absolutely have Emily pet sit again!
Amazing! Emily is wonderful and we didn’t have a worry in the world. She was professional and communicative and our boys (2 cats) took to her quickly. We will absolutely use Emily again!
Thank you!
There is absolutely no one better out there to care for your pet! We continue to have Emily watch our dog when we go away and we’re so thankful for her. She is attentive, caring, and communicative about our dog at all times. She goes out of her way to send several pictures and updates and keeps us informed throughout her stay. We don’t ever want another dog sitter!

I customize care based on your pet’s regular schedule to keep up their routine as much as possible. I also pay close attention to behavior and can easily determine when dogs need to go to outside, want to play, or would rather cuddle up and nap.
Information Emily G. would like to know about your pet
Please tell me if your pup is not housebroken and/or is aggressive towards people or other animals. I am unable to work with dogs that are not housebroken or exhibit aggressive behavior towards house guests. It’s also helpful to go over any medications and preferred administration method beforehand. At this time I have a very full housesitting schedule and thus cannot take on housesitting requests from new clients. Thank you!
A typical day
I love walking with dogs where there's lots of greenery and things to sniff. Exercise is super important, but exploring nature is also psychologically stimulating for dogs, so it's important to give them ample time outside. Otherwise, we can play fetch, tug-of-war, sit out in the sun, or cuddle on the couch.

Animals are my life. Up until about two years ago, I was putting in 16 hour days at a “normal” job that did not fulfill me. Now, I love being my own boss and having more time for the important things in life. In addition to running my own animal care business, I work with my husband doing video marketing and creative projects for nonprofit clients.
