Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Emily! I've been pet sitting for over a decade — I started out sitting for family and family friends and have since expanded to sitting for strangers' pets via Rover. There were always plenty of pets around growing up, so I am no stranger to having pets around me at all times 😊 All bookings through Rover include a free ~20-minute meet & greet — this is a chance for me come over to meet you and your pet to make sure we're a good match. Together, we'll go over their care routine and expectations, as well as how I can expect to get in and out of your home (key, garage door, etc.). If your pet is nervous or aggressive when meeting new people, just let me know beforehand, as well as any methods of greeting you'd like me to use when meeting your pet. I have also cared for pets with advanced medical needs. I am experienced in and comfortable with administering pet medications, as well as preparing meals for older pets who don't have quite as many teeth as they used to :) If your pet requires medications, we'll go over this in our meet & greet. I have a lot of clients through Rover for whom this is their first time using a house/pet sitter — if that's you, then welcome! Sometimes, clients feel a little shy asking about the nitty gritty details. First and foremost: please feel free to just ask me. I really don't mind, I promise! Here are some answers to the most common questions that I get: - I will plan to sleep at your home unless you ask that I don’t (which is also 100% fine.) - I always pack my own linens + food just in case, but I do appreciate when clients share those things with me. Always appreciated, never expected. - I work part-time from home. I also take on walk/drop-in clients, so I will occasionally need to leave your home for no more than 2-3 hours at a time. - Cameras are fine. Per Rover’s in-home camera policy, please no cameras in the sleeping/bathroom areas. - My "business hours" for walks and drop-in visits are 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. Currently my rates are as listed on my profile. Per Rover's model, drop-ins and walks last half an hour and can be extended to an hour — just ask! If your pet needs constant, around-the-clock care, please reach out so we can discuss hourly/daily rates.
Reviews
Emily was great! She put our mind at ease that our pup was taken care of and loved on while we were away for the day.
The cats had a great time with Emily and were well fed and very happy when I got home from Chicago! She was very accommodating to my work schedule to schedule a meet and greet which was also much appreciated. Teddy and Skye can’t wait to see her again.
Emily is my go-to sitter. My cats love her and I really appreciate her flexibility and commitment to caring for them!
Emily was accommodating and communication was great!

Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
Communication is key — we'll go over care instructions and expectations in our meet & greet. During the booking, I am always available on my phone if pet owners think of additional care instructions or would like an update on how things are going. I usually send a good night text at the end of the day with a rundown of what your pet and I got up to during the day. And photos! Lots and lots of pics so you can see how your pet is doing. As a house sitter, I accommodate requests like bringing in the mail, watering plants, putting trash out, etc. It's important to me that clients feel that their house is safe and taken care of while they are away. As with pet sitting, I am always reachable by phone in case clients have any concerns.
Information Emily E. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet is nervous or aggressive when meeting new people. Is there anything in the house that your pet is not allowed on, or any behaviors that you would like me to discourage? I primarily work with pets who are potty trained. Please let me know if your pets are not potty trained.
A typical day
I'm experienced with walking dogs of all sizes and can adjust our walking duration/speed to suit your dog's age, energy level, and experience on a leash. I can accommodate any other activities that your pet requires if going on walks isn't their cup of tea... tug-of-war, fetch, pet puzzles, flirt poles, you name it! Let me know during our meet & greet if there are any walk/play behaviors you are specifically trying to reinforce or discourage with your pet.
