Pet care experience
I have been working as a veterinary technician now for over 10 years, and pet sitting for family, friends, and clients for over 15 years. Because of my experience in the vet field, I come with confidence and experience to deal with, and treat any of your pets needs (especially with giving medications). I am also a very active person, so I am happy to take on high energy dogs. An extra bonus is I have had a lot of experience with anxious and high needs animals, so you can trust all of your training and hard work won't go to waste.

Emily is an incredibly caring person especially towards animals. She's responsible and one of the ways she stands out is her understanding of animal behaviour. She looked after my lab who was afraid of most people and she always made sure he felt safe. There is no one else I'd trust more or would rather looking after my pets!
Emily is the only person we trust to take care of our dog Odis. He is a very high energy, anxious, sometimes reactive dog and she knows just how to work with him to keep him at ease and help him have the best time. She knows the difference between obedience issues and behavioural issues and approaches each dogs needs individually and with kindness. With Emily being an experienced Vet Tech we never have to worry and know he is in the absolute best hands when he’s with her. Not to mention he loooves her so much! When we leave Odis with Emily we know he will have an adventure filled time of hikes and plays and will come back exhausted and so happy.
Whenever I need someone to look after my dog, I always go to Emily. Whether it's for a few hours or while I'm away on vacation, I know I can enjoy my time away and trust that my dog is getting all the love and care I would give her myself. Emily treats the animals she pet-sits as her own, providing them with so much love, snuggles and play, As hard as it can be to leave my dog with someone, it makes it a lot easier knowing that she's going to have her own little vacation hanging out with Emily and her pets and it's so reassuring knowing Emily is there with all of her veterinary knowledge and experience. I recommend Emily to all my friends and family whenever they ask if I know someone for pet-sitting, and we can't say enough good things about her. You (and your pet) will love her!

We have 2 very friendly dogs in our home, who take care of, and entertain the dogs who come and stay with us. I believe trying to stick to a pets routine is very important, so I like to ask my clients if their dog prefers several walks a day, play time, crate time, alone time etc. My home is also "puppy/kitten" proof, and no food is ever left out or accessible, and all toys are used only under supervision. I also own 2 crates, so if your dog is crate trained, we can utilize this instead of you having to transport one to my house.

A typical day
When your dog comes and stays with me, he/she will leave full of happy memories and will likely need a full week to recover from all the excitement. They will go on walks daily, but most of their exercise comes from play time with my 2 other dogs, and socializing with my dog obsessed roommates.

Availability
I am currently working full time as a veterinary technician, working 4 days a week. I live with roommates who help care for the dogs we already currently have, and they are only left at home for up to 6 hours at a time. Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays I am off. I usually leave for work around 7am, and return home around 5:30p. My dogs currently get walks every morning and evening, and occasionally in the afternoon when I am home, or my roommates are home.
