Pet care experience
The quick information for those who prefer short and sweet • There is never less than 5 dogs in our home • We have a fully privacy fenced 1/4acre backyard • All dogs are separated for safety when unsupervised • We carry private insurance for your peace of mind • Client dogs are treated like our own to include sleeping in bed if desired • We have hosted clients 3lb-150lb and 8weeks-16yrs with our pack • We are flexible with drop-off and pick up times • All dogs must be comfortable with a toddler. He is appropriate with dogs and not allowed to climb on or hit, but they will be interacting in the same spaces. • Please feel free to message with any questions!! Leaving your loved pets with someone else can be nerve wracking and we experience this first hand. This is the reason Mike and I decided to begin boarding on Rover.com. We wanted to provide the same loving home environment that we would seek for our own dogs with someone who is as attentive and caring with client dogs as they are with their own. Someone who stays in touch with daily updates and photos and that is exactly what we do! We also carry additional private insurance outside of Rovers policy to put owners mind at ease so that in the rare case of your pet falling ill or injured, they are covered. We pride ourselves in being flexible with the families who book with us and working with their schedule. We understand you may need an early morning drop off or a late evening pick-up and we like to be able to provide that. We are not a kennel and prefer the personal touch you are looking for when booking with a private individual. Find us on Face-book under “Dog Lady Emily” to see photos and videos of the daily life of dogs in our home and under our care! We have 5 dogs now, various ages (3-13) and sizes (15lbs-90lbs) who are accustomed to temporary guests due the amount of fosters we have had. We have had guests dogs as young as 8 weeks and as old as 16 who have ranged in size from 3lbs to over 150lbs. I recently left my full time job to be home more with our 1yr old. So, after taking a break from Rover while completing our family with our little boy, we are back on Rover and with even greater availability! We have recently began to offer drop-in care on a very limited basis for those who need someone skilled to handle their dogs who might be too much for your average "fur-mom" or dog-walker on Rover but are not socialized enough to come to our home. This is only being offered to our friends and neighbors close to Old Cherry Point Road. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have!! ************************************************************************************************* My Background: I have loved dogs my entire life and landed my first dog walking job at 8yrs old across town while growing up on Long Island, New York. I would ride my bike after school to my client’s homes and took great pride in my work even then from Bassets to a Newfie! In more recent years, I ran my own rescue while on Active Duty stationed in the FL Keys. During that time, I gained a great deal of experience having over 300 dogs from all different backgrounds in my care. Everything from 2 day old puppies to blind/deaf seniors and teeny tiny Chihuahuas to a Great Dane. I also volunteered at a low cost clinic where I prepped dogs for surgery, administered vaccines and medications, implanted microchips, and supervised during post op. Additionally, I have basic Dog First-Aid and CPR. I have worked with dogs who have food aggression, who are reactive to other dogs, and dogs with no socialization among other behavioral faults. I train my personal dogs and the dogs of friends and family but hope to one day do training and boarding full time.
Reviews
So wonderful to have someone we trust take care of the dogs. She's the best!
Such great peace of mind knowing that Emily is taking care of the dogs.
Emily took great care of the pups and was able to accommodate some unforeseen circumstances for us. We got pictures of our dogs every day and felt super at ease the whole time. Thank you Emily!
We could not ask for a better sitter for our two German Shepherds. They fit right into the pack at Emily’s as we could tell by the daily pictures/videos we received. It is such a good feeling to know that we do not have to worry about our girls while on vacation and that they are being loved and taken care of. Thank you so much Emily!

Our 1/4-acre backyard is enclosed with board-on-board 6ft tall privacy fencing. There is a double-gated system on both sides of the property for added safety. Although dogs are never left outdoors unsupervised, please give us a heads up if your dog is a notorious Houdini or likes to dig out to ensure we are hyper vigilant. We have cameras all over the house and yard to always have an eye on things. The Fire station and Craven Animal Hospital are both only ½ mile down the road. We also carry insurance through Pet Sitters Associates on top of what Rover offers so in the very rare case that your dog becomes ill or injured under our care, you know we will rush them to the Vet and they are covered.

Availability
I recently left my full time job to spend more time with my 1yr old son. I am home full time aside from grocery shopping or appointments etc. We spend a lot of time out in the yard as our little boy loooves outside and has climbed out the dog door since before he can walk. The older ones prefer to stay inside and nap so it is up to the dog to decide. There is no unsupervised interaction with other dogs to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being. If your dog is accustomed to a crate, we are happy to comply with either your crate or one of ours. If not, they have free reign of the guest room behind a baby gate while our dogs are kenneled.
