Pet care experience
Welcome! My name is Emily and just completed my biology degree at CSU in Fort Collins. Before changing career paths to the reproductive medical field, I spent 2 years on the veterinary track! I've been caring for dogs for at least 8 years- including friends and families dogs, as well as my own. I have experience with breeds from chihuahuas, to pit bulls, to mastiffs, to cattle dogs, to chow chows and a lot in between. I am known for the snazzy tricks that I teach my own dog. Rather than seeing dogs as just dogs, I see them as family and vital part of our lives. I recognize every dog has a different personality and different way of communicating and living. Having my own anxious pet, I am extremely understanding and patient with all dog personalities and can adapt in any situation. Aside from giving them love and affection (of course), trips to the park are necessary to exercise your pup, and me as well (ha!). I’m currently not working and searching for a long term career, so I am 100% devoted to giving my very-open time to my clients. I promise to make your life less stressful when it comes to your pup and provide the best care I can possibly give. :)

I was looking for someone to walk my dog during the day and Emily was great! She came over to meet him before starting. Her communication and reports were detailed and the pics an added bonus!

In my own home, I have a large, fenced backyard for my 2 dogs to run around and play. In my clients home, I like to know the boundaries, rules and methods of how they care for their pet, so I can do the same. For pets that don’t have a yard, I like to know how the pet reacts to leashed walks, other animals or humans, and general behavior and knowledge to ensure the safety of the pet.

I do not have any breed preferences. I would like to know any health or behavioral problems if a dog has them, and just a little background on the dog. I would like to know about the pets temperament, how they are around people and other dogs, territorial about food/toys and their general schedule with their owner.
A typical day
Walks throughout the neighborhood are always a go-to option. However, if able, I like to take pets to an open space, fenced dog park where they are free to explore new scents, meet new friends and get their exercise in. Fetch, tug, and cuddling are all on the plate of activities. I also love playing hide and seek with my own dog!
