Dog Mom and Friend to all
Pet care experience
I grew up with both cats and a dog in the house. Having a family pet is something that is extremely dear to me and I would love your pet as if they are my own. I currently have 3 chow chows that are my fur babies and I spoil them rotten. Effective 1 November any walks scheduled before the hours of 0730 and after 1800 will convert to drop-in visits due to weather changes as well as Daylight Savings Time coming to an end. Rest assured, your dog will still have the opportunity to relieve themselves but will not be taken on a long walk for for the safety of all involved. On any days where a walk is schedule but inclement weather occurs during normal daytime visits/walks I will ensure your dog has the proper time to relieve themselves outside but the rest of the visit will be spent indoors. Any drop-ins or walk requests before 0700 in the morning or after 2100 at night will have an additional premium added to the normal rate that can be discussed at our initial meet and greet.

Emily is wonderful and Layla immediately warmed up to Emily which is wonderful and gave me peace while on travels. I highly recommend Emily, she is a warm person, easy to talk to, professional and a wonderful person. I will ask Emily to care for Layla with my future travels that I'm not able to take Layla. Thank you Emily for a wonderful job.

Our dog is wary of all strange people and has separation anxiety, so we have never left her with a sitter before. Emily came to our home twice to meet Sadie and let Sadie get to know her a bit. She went with Sadie and I on walks and learned her routines. We let her know what time we left and she came within 2 hrs. to begin her stay. She took excellent care of Sadie and Pippin the cat. Sadie loved her and did so well with her! She quickly bonded with Emily and even slept cuddled up next to her at night. Pippin eventually warmed up to where he joined them on the bed at night. Emily sent me so many pictures and video clips and reports about the pets that I was reassured that they were doing well. Emily did her work here via her laptop and only left Sadie and Pippin for a few hours twice a day to run errands. Emily is the best! I will definitely call on her again if we ever need a pet sitter. I highly recommend her!

Thank You So Very Much, Emily, for your Great Care of Naji! For an elderly dog, I couldn't have wanted a Kinder & Considerate person to be there for him in ALL Aspects. That was the first time I've had to leave him for so long --- and I'm glad and grateful you were available to be with him, providing timely and thorough Updates & Pics. I never felt worried with Emily taking care of my dog, and you can't put a price on that.

Hissy loved Emily and every need was taken care of. Would book again!

Information Emily C. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know if your dog (or cat) has any certain reactive behaviors or triggers that might arise during our visit or walk. This will help me to be more proactive than reactive in a situation. Also any likes or dislikes (favorite scratching spot, favorite park, favorite treats, etc). Also are there any behaviors you do not want to reinforce in your household or are there certain treats your dog is not allowed to have (allergic, dietary restrictions, etc). If there are keywords or phrases you use to garner an action or behavior, please share these with me. I’m also a babysitter and have been a nanny in past years so if your needs extend to your non-furry children, I’d be happy to help :-) Regarding extreme weather (heat, cold, snow, ice, hail) during our appointments: I will always have your dog’s safety and best interest at heart. I am very attentive and watch for signs of heat or cold stress in a dog and do my best to mitigate or eliminate these from the scenario. I listen and watch your dogs mannerisms. I follow guidelines set forth by the American Veterinarian Medical Association as well as American Kennel Club when evaluating a dog for potential stress or exhaustion due to the climate/weather. I will never force a dog to do anything as this can cause more issues and stress. If weather does not lend to being able to complete the allotted time for the walk, we will come back to the house and play with toys or sit and relax so that your dog still has company and is not left alone. I will not put the health & safety of your dog at risk solely to achieve a desired time outside. My job is to ensure your dog is in the same or better shape as when you left earlier in the day and part of that responsibility is ensuring that they are safe and healthy when I leave. Leaving a few minutes at the end of the walk to monitor your dog to ensure he or she is recovered from the walk is paramount. Exhausting a dog to solely reach “30 minutes of desired activity” when the outdoor temperature is not conducive to exertion levels is not something I believe in nor will I tolerate. I have your dogs best interests at heart. My drop-in and walking rates listed are for anyone within a 5 mile radius. Outside of that radius, rates do increase due to gas and time to/from your home. ***Home-Sitting clients*** please ensure your dog can go the requested 4-8 hours without having to be let outside for potty breaks. I do take on other drop-in visits during the week/weekend as well as have my own pups that I must attend to so I will not be at your home 24 hours a day. Please also indicate if you require overnight stays during the house-sitting so I can arrange my schedule to meet your needs. Please also indicate if your furbaby has separation anxiety and cannot be left alone; If that is what you need, the booking will need to be at the constant care rate, rather than the overnight rate.
A typical day
I enjoying taking dogs on walks and playing in their backyard or house depending on space and weather. If the dog enjoys playing tug of war or fetch we most certainly can do that. Walks at parks are great sensory places for dogs and I offer plenty of time for sniff breaks and inquisitive searching. If your kitty enjoys playing and chasing toys we can play during our drop-in.

Availability
I currently work full time but can take care of pets throughout the day with drop in visits or walks. I tend to schedule drop-ins or walks around early morning, lunch time or anytime after 1600 into the evenings. Weekends are completely open. I will commit to visiting your home and pets within a 60-90 min timeframe if a certain time needs adherence for scheduling purposes; this is to allow for any transportation delays due to traffic or weather. If a drop-in can be completed at anytime during the day, please let me know during our meet and greet. For House-Sitting services, I will use your home as my “home base” for the duration of the stay. The cost includes what would amount to multiple drop-ins during the day for your pets. However, there will be times where I will have to leave to either provide drop ins at another clients location, run errands or to let my own puppies out. Please indicate if overnight stays are a necessity as I will need to rearrange my schedule to meet your needs. If you need constant care, as in your pets are never left alone, please let me know ahead of time so I can ensure I can accommodate your needs.
