Hi! My name is Emily and I have just moved back to Guelph! I have previously worked as a dog-walker & sitter at We Let the Dogs Out in Peterborough and more recently I worked through Rover to walk, check-in and take care of lots of wonderful dogs in Ottawa (it was hard to say goodbye!). I grew up in a household full of dogs, my parents are dog-lovers and constantly took in or fostered dogs that needed a home or extra care. I caught the dog-loving bug as a child and have never looked back! Before working officially as a dog-walker, I was an on-call pet-sitter for family, which lead to friends and friends of friends because they know that my partner Joel and I enjoy and get along well with animals. I take a rewards-based approach to disciplining, using positive reinforcement (cheers and treats if allowed) to highlight when dogs are doing the right thing or making an effort in the right direction.
