I've lived with both dogs and cats my entire life -- from fluffy mini poodle-mixes to black and yellow labs, with a Weimaraner thrown in there! I currently do not have any pets due to apartment restrictions, so I would be overjoyed with the opportunity to share the time and energy that I have to pets that need it. I have always had a love for big dogs--we had a golden retriever, yellow lab, and a Weimaraner in quick succession. All lived to an old age, and I have plenty of experience with coping for hip dysplasia, comforting through seizures, and cleaning up after sick tummies. My love for small dogs began later in life with River, my friend's Dorkie (Doxen/Yorkie mix). My friend worked days, and I was free during the day, so I spent my days with River for a year, until her dad could get a stay-at-home job. Her energy was completely boundless, so long walks and plenty of fetch in dog parks were an absolute necessity. Lucy was next, an anxious Shih-Tzu/mini-poodle mix that I cared for while her dad was in college. She needed a lot of love, and she was so nervous around other dogs and people. We worked up to walks, but she and I would mostly play with balls and toys inside. She still had a ton of energy, so she needed to burn off that anxious energy before we could cuddle and rest together. I love taking walks with dogs, and I'm an expert at running through their boundless energy with playtime, with plenty of water and potty breaks. I enjoy taking pictures with the animals I sit and walk, so if you can receive text messages at work, I'd love to text you picture updates with your pets having a great time. I will always complete a Rover Report Card for your dog on walks, and I will drop you a text or email when I drop by for play or potty breaks. I want you to be completely comfortable and assured that your dog or cat is going to be well cared for when you cannot be there, as well as relaxed and happy to see you when you get home. Dogs have unending joy and love, and I want to make sure they feel love and comfort even when their No. 1 (that's you!) can't be there.
