Pet care experience
**CANINE AND FELINE FIRST AID/CPR CERTIFIED** I've had dogs in my life for nineteen years and believe them to be the best companions. Due to personal health decline in 2020, I am currently unable to care for high energy dogs. I would love to discuss your dog's specific needs with you before booking. I have years of dog training and dog sitting experience. My dogs are my family, and spending time with dogs brings me so much joy!
Reviews
Emilie is the absolute best sitter. Every time I leave my pup with her I am completely at peace and reassured that my dog will be taken care of just as if she was one of Emilie’s own. My dog gets excited being at Emilie’s which speaks volumes of how well she is taken care of.
Awesome—she is so kind and caring towards our dog!
I’ve lost count of how many times Emilie has watched our pup, but I am so grateful for how she treats my dog as one of her own. Emilie goes above and beyond to make sure my dog is happy and comfortable the entire time. My pup gets excited when I tell her we’re going to see Emilie, cannot recommend her enough ☺️
Kodas stay was as great as always! I get a ton of pictures and updates when I’m gone. Emilie takes amazing care of Koda! I won’t book with anyone else!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a 6' privacy fence that encloses the backyard; it was built with my (late) 5lb Chihuahua in mind, and contains my 65lb German Shepherd with no problems. The gates are sturdy, secure, and latched at all times. In the summer I have a puppy pool out for water-loving dogs. My entire home is dog-friendly; pets are welcome on furniture and my bed, and free to wander around as they please. My cats act like dogs most of the time and they get along well with all the dogs here.

Information Emilie A. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know their energy level, favorite treats and toy types, and what kind of routine they normally have. It's important for me to know how they behave with other dogs as well as cats since I have both in the house. Understanding their prey drive, whether or not they resource guard, and how territorial they are is essential.
A typical day
Our favorite outdoor activity is hiking, and I love taking the dogs on adventures with me. Weather permitting, we go for a hike once a week, and a walk every other day (providing your dog is trained for leash walks). With attention paid to dietary restrictions, dogs are allowed puzzle toys and frozen lick mats once a day--under supervision--in order to provide mental stimulation and decrease anxiety. Due to the increase in respiratory viruses in dogs in MN, as well as the added physical risk, we do not spend time at dog parks.

Availability
February 8, 2024 - May 16, 2024: I commute to Northfield as I finish my BA program. I will be gone five hours midday Tuesday-Thursday each week. In addition, I will have sporadic hours on campus on Mondays and Fridays due to my position on a research team. I will never be gone for more than 6 hours at a time. As such, please be sure this schedule will fit your dog's needs before booking with me.
