Best Dog Auntie Ever!
Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Emilee! Let me introduce myself - I am happy to be apart of the Rover team as I am a huge dog lover and am working towards a dog of my own one day. I have taken a pause on my own dog adoption journey and would love to pour all that love into your fur baby! My goal is to gain some experience for my adoption applications I’d love to help take care of your pet as if it were my own. I have 2 kitties - Bindi & Kiwi. You can see them on my profile. These two are high energy goofballs who love playing with all of our Rover dogs. They both have been exposed to dogs from the time they were kittens so it takes them about 10 minutes to warm up to your pup before they're all snuggling in bed together or chasing each other around my apartment. My skills include: - Experience with puppies. I’ve had two of my own who are now senior pups living with my parents. I have taken care of plenty of puppies in my lifetime as well because I’ve always been the go-to dog sitter for my friends. - Experience with adult dogs. - Experience with senior dogs. - Experience with dogs who have special needs (I.e. medication administration, special diets, physio schedule) - I am very patient, I have never disliked a dog and I’ve met some crazy ones! But alas they all steal my heart. - I have experience with reactive dogs and am a strong handler. Please note I do have higher than average rates. I’ve been doing this for a little while now and have had a few furry guests who have been more work than anticipated, which is totally okay and it happens but I’ve made the decision to increase my rates because of this. Know that if you feel the rates are too high for the care of your fur baby id be happy to negotiate :) Whatever you and your pup need, I am willing to accommodate within reason :) I look forward to meeting you and your pet!

Emilee watched our 2 pups and gave us such piece of mind while we were away! She sent great updates and pictures which was much appreciated. I will definitely be using her again!
Emilee didn't stay with our pets. A family member helped us out. Emilee was understanding and kind about the change of plans.
Emilee took good care of my furry children. They loved her and were calm and confortable in her presence.
We were really nervous leaving Nyx for the weekend but Emilee was great! She eased our concerns with her knowledge on dogs and puppies! She was very accommodating as our puppy is young and wasn’t ready for other dogs yet! Her cat Bindi was a great first playmate!

Our pets and yours are treated like the little angels they are. In my home, pets are welcomed and encourage to snuggle with us on the couches and in bed. However, in home pet sitting services I would ask you provide me with details or restrictions on how you would prefer I take care of pets (i.e. no pets allowed on the couch or bed, etc). I would like to say I am rather accommodating so if there are any specifications you were prefer your pet I am happy to work a plan out with you on their care.

Let me know your dogs preferences, i.e. food schedule, exercise level, if they like car rides, if they are good with other dogs, if they have a bed time (I know my dogs have always had a bed time lol). Any allergies/dietaries restrictions. And of course their fave treats!
A typical day
Just 60 seconds from my house there is a large field where a group of local parents and pups hang out and play (leashed and off-leash). If your pet loves to socialize I’d love to bring them out and get to know the gang! If your pet is a little more independent we have a decently sized back yard for their personal use! Otherwise about a half an hour out to Port Stanley there are a few fun little and quiet dog beaches if this is something they’d be interested in! And if your pooch is a hiker like me my Saturdays morning usually consist of 5-10km hikes at the Fanshawe Nature Conservation Area!

Availability
I work part-time for Paratransit through LTC. This offers me more flexibility in my hours to check in with your pet. However, this means there could be short periods of time I would be away from the home (max 4 hours at a time, typically less than this). I live right around the corner from my work and am able to return home on lunches. Additionally my partner works from home so your pet would rarely be home alone at any time.
