Can’t wait to meet your fur baby!
Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Em, my pronouns are they/them/theirs. I started caring for the pets and homes of neighbors and family friends as early as middle school, growing up in Lancaster, PA. After a few years living between CO and MT, I moved back this way to Philadelphia to complete undergrad at Temple University. I started working more consistently with pet owners in the area after graduating in 2019. I live in West Philly with my cat Ivy. I work a hybrid office job with 2 days/wk in Conshohocken and 3 days/wk remote. I love the outdoors and all things literature and film. I have always been a big animal person. I love to get down and active with engaging play for high-energy dogs, as much as I love being present with the cuddly and loving lap friends. These days, mostly pet/housesitting opportunities suit me best, and I’m down for the occasional walk/drop-in when it works!
Reviews
Emily was an excellent sitter and very communicative! My dog Penny took to Emily from the start, and I was glad to leave her in Emily’s capable hands.
Wonderful!! So grateful to have found Emily in the area - she’s great with my dog!
Emily was great! My young pit mix can be a lot to handle, but I was confident leaving her in Emily's care. Very responsive, good communication, we were able to schedule our meet and greet fast. Emily was attentive to my dogs needs and I would absolutely recommend her to others.
Emily was wonderful! She loved on my handful of kitties while I was gone and I had no worries. I was happy to come back to a well taken care of home and my fur babies doing great. Highly recommend!

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
Safety is always top priority, and I do everything I can to establish and build trust with the pet parents I work with. It’s very important for me to know that my clients feel comfortable with me in their home and with their fur babies in my care.
Information Em R. would like to know about your pet
I like to be as informed as possible regarding everything from your dog’s health needs to the usual commands or specific words they respond to, their preferences, and personal quirks. I like to have an idea of their normal day and know things like how often they typically get treats, when, and what for.
A typical day
We can visit the neighborhood dog-park together, or hit up a nearby walking path or hiking trail —truly whatever you'd like! I always like to ask what an average day looks like for your dog. I want to make sure they’re as happy and as stress-free as possible while you’re away, and I think keeping their basic routine intact is usually a good place to start for that. I’ll also take care of trash/recycling if that day of the week falls within the time of my stay, bring in mail and/or newspapers, and care for any plants you have, indoors and out! I know how good it feels to come home to a clean home, so I prioritize leaving the space just as nice as I found it, if not better.

Availability
My current weekly routine is structured to have me working business hours in the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For the other weekdays, I’m able to work from wherever I can get a solid internet connection. This yields greater opportunity for quality hang time with pets throughout the day and evening!
