The first priority moving here was to build a very large fence so mine and my housemates' four dogs could run around freely. Now I live just with my dog, Mash Potato. I love getting to know new dogs and finding out how everybody learns and reacts to things differently. I've had dogs forever and for the past decade or so I have been dog sitting often and consistently. I grew up on a farm (with dogs) and thus have dealt with a wide variety of animal medical needs and emergencies. I have taken care of many breeds of dogs and also many dogs that need special care. I have also taken care of dogs that don't get along with other dogs or just need to be separated. I don't have to leave home for work though I occasionally need to leave for a few hours. My dog is the only dog I am comfortable leaving alone in the yard but I have a spare room, large and small dog crates, and an extra dog lot with an escape-proofed fence. I have a chihuahua pitbull (mash potato) who is very sweet and loves new friends though he is a rescue and sometimes inexplicably moody. If we meet and greet and our dogs don't click that's okay they can still come stay! I can let them play supervised, try new ways of introducing them, or just keep them separated. The yard is half an acre with lots of space to run and fetch and all the plants within the fence are dog safe. If your dog is more of a low-energy or inside dog that is also okay there is plenty of space in the house for them to chill in the air conditioning. IMPORTANT: If your dog is known to climb/dig/escape 4 ft tall fences *please please please* tell me this first thing when you send a request! I live on a busy road and there is ~800 ft of fence for me to watch. There is a dog lot with a 6 foot tall fence and if your doggo is trying to do an escape we will have to stay out there, inside the house, or on a leash in the big yard.
