Pet care experience
I am enthusiastic to establish myself as a quality sitter for ALL kinds of pets. In addition to having dogs and cats throughout my life, I have also owned plenty of “higher-maintenance” pets including bearded dragons, chameleons, skinks, and I’m currently the owner of two beautiful rabbits. If you have an exotic pet in your home, or a pet that requires specialized care, I will be eager to follow any special instructions to ensure that they are as comfortable as possible while you’re away.

As the owner of two free-roam rabbits, I understand the importance of creating a safe and comfortable environment for more sensitive critters. I also have experience with anxious/reactive dogs, so if your pup needs a walk, I’d be happy to communicate with you to stick to a route they are familiar with. Similarly, for drop-ins, please don’t hesitate to express any specific social needs your pet may have (do they prefer to be left alone, or will they need enrichment and playtime?).

If your dog tends to be anxious or reactive, please let me know before I drop in, and don’t hesitate to provide extra information about what they need to feel comfortable. **In addition** If your dog has a history of food aggression, mood swings, or simply does not respond well to being pet, please let me know! I will still be glad to provide care and company for your dog, but for my own comfort and safety, I would like to know about any issues of this nature beforehand.
A typical day
I love providing creative enrichment for the dogs I care for. During drop-in’s, I can reinforce any tricks/training you’ve been giving your dog, and make sure to give them lots of playtime. I enjoy exploring the wooded areas around Iowa City and would be happy to bring your dog along on hikes.

Availability
I work part time as a University of Iowa employee, so I am always in town and available most days of the week. I have large windows available so I’ll be happy to give your dogs nice long walks. Here is my availability for the month of July: Monday, Wednesday: 9:30am-5pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:30am-2pm; 7-9pm Weekends: 8am-5pm
