Caring for pets isn’t just a job for me, it’s my life! I spend most days leading training sessions, walking dogs, or providing in home pet care. My schedule is built around my clients’ pets, so their routines naturally become part of mine. Before I care for your pet, I like to learn a bit about their routine, personality, and any special needs they may have. This includes things like feeding schedules, medical needs, how they do on walks, what commands they know, and any quirks or triggers to be mindful of. I also ask about home access, house rules, and anything else that will help your pet feel safe and comfortable while you're away. The more I know up front, the better I can tailor my care to fit your pet’s unique needs!
A typical day
Ensuring their well-being and happiness is my top priority. When weather permits, I'll ensure they receive ample outdoor exercise and playtime. Additionally, I'll provide enriching activities indoors to keep them happy and stimulated during their visit.

Without animals, life wouldn't be as fun, would it? Growing up with a Shih Tzu, Guinea Pigs, Dwarf Hamsters, fish and cats, my life has always been filled with that unconditional love that only an animal is capable of giving. My background in pet care includes volunteering with shelters like Adopt-A-Pet and Chicagoland Dog Rescue, as well as hands-on experience working as a care attendant and manager at Wee Little Paws Inn, a doggy daycare in Deer Park. I’ve also managed small pet care companies, giving me a well-rounded understanding of both animal care and client service. In addition to the years of pet care experience, I have formal education in canine behavior and training through the Animal Behavior Institute. My approach is force-free, and rooted in modern behavioral science. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most respected positive reinforcement trainers, behavior consultants, and veterinary professionals in the field. Whether you have a tiny Terrier or a Great Dane, I am happy to help with all your pet-care needs!

This was our second time having Ellie dog sit for our dog Vita, and somehow she managed to impress us even more than the first time. From the moment we left, Ellie was incredibly responsive and communicative, sending thoughtful updates that gave us total peace of mind. It’s so clear how much she genuinely cares — Vita absolutely adores her and had the best time. She got tons of exercise, enjoyed long walks (even in the cold!), and came back to us happy, relaxed, and clearly very well loved. Knowing Vita was not just cared for, but truly having fun, made all the difference for us while we were away. Ellie also went far above and beyond as a house guest. She was so considerate and took amazing care of our home — taking out the garbage, washing dishes, and even refilling the humidifiers. Walking into a tidy house after traveling was such an unexpected and appreciated touch. Ellie is consistently an excellent dog sitter: reliable, thoughtful, attentive, and just an all-around wonderful person to trust with both our dog and our home. We couldn’t recommend her more highly — a true five-star experience every time!
