Hi! My name is Ellen and I have had dogs for most of my life, but am unable to have them in my current living situation. As such, I want to live vicariously through giving your pups the utmost loving, attentive care! I have experience with house/pet-sitting as well as drop-ins, and love taking long or short walks with dogs. I truly love all animals and am eager to meet your loved ones and provide the best care during your absence. I'm also happy to administer medication or be flexible in some other special circumstances; I will personalize our visits/stays to you and your pup's needs and desires. I've worked personally with a variety of highly spirited purebred dogs, too: Brussels Griffons, Greyhounds, Border Collies, Weimeraners, Huskies, and more. I'm also experienced with other types of pets as well. I am willing to be flexible with pricing, particularly for households with multiple cats, so don't be shy when inquiring. I have two of my own cats, Adagio and Basil, and truly understand the need to find quality, loving care while you are away. Since I live with my partner and two cats of our own, I don't generally do home-sitting where I stay in your home for many nights at a time. However, I am available for shorter or intermittent home-sitting periods (1-4 nights) as well as daily visits and feeding. I can be flexible with pricing for these situations so please reach out to me for more information if you are interested. I've removed this service from my profile because I was unable to set a time limit, but I can be flexible and customize visits/stays to you and your pets' needs.

Ellen is a true animal lover! She has farm and dog sat for us on multiple occasions. When Ellen was farm sitting, we never worried that our animals were not being loved and cared for. I first met Ellen when she came to work on our farm as a seasonal worker. It quickly became evident that Ellen was an animal lover. She bonded quickly with our chickens, hogs, cows and of course, cats and dogs. Soon, she was bringing her dog to work and he blended smoothly with our farm dogs. Ellen's responsibility was demonstrated as she not only made certain her dog was adjusting to our farm, but she also made certain all animals were not being overly stressed by a new dog on farm. Most importantly, her goal was to be certain the needs of animals on farm were met and they were happy, stress free and enjoying life.
Ellen is an extremely caring, responsible, and dedicated pet sitter. I have two cats and a dog and they all absolutely adore her. I had no worries at all taking a 3 week honeymoon last year with Ellen left in charge of my loves. When we returned they were happy and healthy, and didn't seem stressed in the slightest. She has a wealth of experience but more than anything, her fun and caring nature make her well suited to pet care.
Ellen is the most responsible and caring pet owner I know. As the owner of a lovely Greyhound and five cats growing up, Ellen was devoted to her pets to an almost obsessive degree. Now as an adult, Ellen's dedication to her two cats through sickness and health is awe-inspiring. She truly loves and cares about animals, and there's no one I would trust more with my dog.
Ellen is an extremely sweet and very responsible pet owner who has lots of experience caring for dogs (and other animals)! She's very playful with dogs and loves to take them on long walks and out and about.

I do not have breed preferences and am open to all breeds. However, I will need to know about any issues with behavior, as well as dietary needs and allergies. If there's some particular habit or training issue (i.e. going intro the trash, difficulty walking on the leash, etc), that would be helpful too. The more information I have, the better; I definitely won't be overwhelmed if you have a lot of specifics! Also, depending on the distance, I may travel to your home via bike. If it is driving distance, it would be useful for me to know what parking is like in your neighborhood.
A typical day
We'll walk around Lake Merritt, in nearby parks, and will seek out dog parks if your pup is social! We can even take shorter car trips to dog-friendly green spaces for some privacy and room to run. Let me know about some of your pup's favorite spots and I'm happy to oblige.
