Pet care experience
I have had dogs in my family since I was 9 years old, and have always harboured a fanatical dog obsession, memorizing dog breeds and their traits from a very young age. I now work at the SPCA where I care for and walk dogs professionally, and have developed skills with all kinds of dogs, from reactive and challenging dogs to the extremely friendly ones, dogs with bad leash manners, or those that are a little afraid of the world. My family dogs have always been pugs but I have experience working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and love nothing more that getting to know the little quirks of all the dogs that cross my paths. I have a soft spot in my heart for pitties and staffies, they are some of the most charming dogs I've ever met. I've also developed a lot of cat skills and have since starting at the SPCA adopted my own senior cat. I know the struggle of trying to get a cat to take a pill, and am generally absolutely in love with cats of all shapes and sizes.
Reviews
Ellen took amazing care of my pet chihuahua Binkie! She communicated with me to reassure that Binkie had all the love & care needed and became a person I could really depend on to look after my pup! She made sure her feeding times were regular and took her on beautiful walks around the city. Thanks again Ellen!

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
When walking dogs I prefer to walk with a harness for the safety of the dog and myself, but am also confident with a martingale style collar. I am used to walking reactive dogs and getting to know the individuals that I walk will be important in understanding where they like to go, what stresses them out, and what to avoid.

Availability
I am a student taking a reduced courseload and working part-time at the SPCA, so I am busy but I have lots of time during the middle of the day and evenings that I would love to spend hanging out with some lovely pets.
