Pet care experience
Hi there! I've been caring for people's pets, plants and homes intermittently over the last 20 years (though I've just recently started doing sits through Rover). I love animals- I'm both a 'dog person' and a 'cat person.' I like to make sure animals are at ease and happy while their owners are away, keeping to their routines as much as possible. I'm very conscientious when pet/housesitting, making sure all details are attended to with plant care, mail, cleanliness, security, etc. Here are a couple recent testimonials for sits through another petsitting website: "I was so lucky to have Elle stay with Maeby. Elle was a true Angel. She helped us out very last minute and took really good care of Shambie. She has a very warm personality, both reliable and responsible (poor thing had to read all my pages of notes last minute too!). Our house was just perfect when I got home, that’s always an important factor when you have a home kitty sitter as well. I highly recommend her. We look forward to her return!
Elle housesat and cared for my elderly golden retriever for a week in May of 2019. She did an amazing job. My dog had some health issues at the time and did an excellent job administering his medications. She took him swimming and on beautiful hikes. By the time I returned home, it was obvious they had a real connection for each other. I was a little embarrassed as she left my home way cleaner than how I had left it for her. You and your pets will be very lucky if you get to have Elle care for them. Jo K

Any special needs, personality traits, habits, or preferences a pet has that would be helpful to know before the sit begins are much appreciated. It's helpful to know how they get along with other dogs we encounter while on walks as well.
A typical day
I love getting out on pretty walks and hikes with dogs. Whether they need to be on leash or off- on sidewalks, trails, or beaches, I enjoy outings and seeing their joy being outside. And if a dog likes to play fetch or go for a swim, I'm happy to play in the park, by a stream, or wherever works best!

Availability
I've been traveling and spending time in different regions on the mainland through petsitting for the last several years. I've lived on Kauai a total of 12 years and am currently back on island for awhile, doing pet/housesitting and enjoying beautiful Kauai. I do part-time work from home, so generally I'm able to work with the schedules and routines pets are used to. I prioritize the animals' wellbeing when they're in my care, as I've done that with my own pets in the past!
