My family has had dogs since before my sister and I were born so they genuinely felt like part of the family. I have always adored every dog I met and since we recently adopted two rescue greyhounds of the sweetest temperament I’ve been motivated to help more dogs in terrible situations and find them good homes. Every dog deserves a lovely owner or sitter and that’s what I aspire to be for whichever dog needs it! As a family we had two Irish Wheaten Terriers which were part of the family from the year before I was born until I was 13 years old! They were absolutely divine and would sleep in my sister and I’s bed every night (despite not being technically allowed, we would sneak them up). They both had amazing long lives and after they passed we decided as a family that we should adopt rescues as there are so many beautiful dogs in the world who have sadly had a hard start in life but still deserve a loving family just as much as any other. So we adopted Rudi and Dixie, two previously stray greyhounds and although they had a difficult start, as Dixie was just 1 year old when we rescued her and had never been inside a house with stairs nor a car(!) they have settled in amazingly and our now the two sweetest, most loving and confident dogs! Dixie and Rudi’s journey has made my adoration of dogs grow and having gone to university and therefore not able to spend as much time with them as I would like, I would love the opportunity to look after some lovely doggies in Edinburgh as well!
