Pet care experience
I’m back from Rover maternity leave! I took a break from animal care to get through the rest of my pregnancy and bond with my new baby. I’m missing spending time with animals and am looking forward to caring for your fur baby. I love animals! I have had pets nearly my whole life. I started pet sitting when I was very young and had dreams of becoming a veterinarian. I unfortunately can't handle blood so I was unable to live out that dream. :) I had a cat named Clyde that I's had for about 11 years who passed away May 2023 after battling kidney disease and lymphoma for several years. Because of his health issues I am experienced in giving medications (pill and liquid), cleaning out his ears, and even administering an IV drip every other day. I have also administered medications to many other cats and have had no issues. Call me the kitty whisperer! 😊 I also have a lot of experience working with dogs of all sizes on training, feeding, walking, etc. I understand our fur babies are our children and will treat your animals with the utmost care and respect as I would expect the same care to be given to my animal. I am looking forward to caring for your baby! I also have experience caring for other animals such as small rodents (gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, sugar gliders, hamsters), chickens, reptiles, and fish. Elke is the best, and a true animal lover. She took such great care of our emotionally needy mainecoon and sent the best pictures each day. When we came home everything was in perfect order and our cat didn't seem nearly as stressed as he sometimes can get when we're away for a week. We would happily welcome back Elke any time!
Elke did an excellent job caring for my two old and sick kitties. She was kind and patient at coming up with multiple ways to pill my old male kitty who is new to his meds. I highly recommend Elke for your pets, she is top notch.

I always want to make sure you and your animal feel comfortable with me. I always schedule a free meet and greet with new clients to get acquainted with you and your animal so you feel comfortable with me being in your home. I would like specific instructions on anything about your pet that I may need to be aware of. For example, if there are things I can do to make your animal feel more comfortable when I enter and leave, need to check litter box for poops for constipated cats, etc.

A typical day
I like playing the way they like to play. If your animal enjoys fetch, pulling on a rope toy, peanut butter in a Kong toy, or dog parks, I am happy to do any of these things at your request. For the kitties, I love playing with a laser pointer, playing with feather toys and lots of cuddles. I understand every animal is different and has different preferences so please let me know what your fur baby likes/dislikes.

My work schedule is flexible which allows me to come in the mornings, some days at lunch, and late afternoons/evenings. I am available on weekends and holidays all day. I can visit your home multiple times per day if needed. I am available for the following 2023 holidays: Labor Day Weekend Veteran’s Day Weekend Christmas time/New Years
