I WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE IF YOU'RE LOCATED A LITTLE FARTHER OUT FROM ME WE CAN DISCUSS MILEAGE. Growing up with a large, loveable dog I gained confidence with animals early on. I have looked after dogs and cats for family and neighbours and adore getting to spoil them with love and attention. I hope to get my own pet soon, but until then I have time and undivided attention to give. The past 7 months I have been supporting my family with their 2 sibling cockapoo puppies now 11 months old which has been great experience with young dogs, I am very consistent with training and patient and offer lots of play time. I also have experience with elderly dogs gained from walking my neighbours collie-lab mix until she passed and our family dog (Maremma Sheepdog) when I was younger. I have a lot of flexibility as a self employed person so feel free to reach out even at the last minute. Every pet is different so I'd love to discuss with you your pets unique needs and temperament, so that their time with me really is the next best thing to having you.

Clover our golden retriever has just got back from a 2 nights stay, with Elka & Jim. He was so well looked after and Elka went out of her way to find everything out about him and his routine prior to his stay. She played interactive games with him which he thoroughly enjoyed. We were regularly updated with photos of him which we loved. We would not hesitate to book Clover in again , on our next getaway. Thank you both so much.
A very last minute request to walk Archer that Elka kindly accepted. Archer is always very excited to see Elka and loves his walks with her. He came back happy with a wagging tail. I would 100% recommend Elka to care for and walk your dog. Thanks Elka.
It was our first ever time using Rover so we thought we would give Elka a try and it was definitely the right choice. She was really lovely, helped us out very last minute and sent us lots of updates. The dogs seemed really settled and had a lovely time. I have a fenced back garden of a good size and benefit from living near some lovely country walks. There are no pets of my own or children and we are a non-smoking household. I live with my partner Jim, so while this is my venture and I'll be the sole carer, there may be another adult home when your pet stays who is also a dog-lover and happy to give some additional fuss to your pets. Your pet will really feel like part of the family! Sadly for Jim he is allergic to cats so please note I can only look after your cats at your house not mine. I am fully DBS checked and while not a requirement for pet sitters I do hope this helps gives some peace of mind. I am aware being entrusted with your pets and in your home is a privileged position. I am respectful of other people's property and privacy, if you would prefer me as your pet sitter not to enter certain rooms of your house you can leave the door closed. Security cameras in disclosed locations in line with Data Protection law is OK with me. I am tidy and clean up after myself. I'm happy to keep you updated with pictures/videos throughout the day and you will always be able to reach me if you suddenly think of something or just want to know how it's going.

Information Elka L. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any medical needs/allergies ahead of time. I have experience with oral medication and ear drops but nothing more advanced than this. I'll ask what their feeding routine is like and what their favourite things are to do. Please be upfront about any behaviours I may need to be aware of, does your pet have separation-anxiety, a chewing problem when on their own, are they reactive with other dogs, pull on the lead or do they like to try and pick up gross things in their mouth? Its best to be on top of these things from the get go!
A typical day
We'll explore the local neighbourhood and countryside, we'll walk in all weathers so your dog will need to have a coat potentially if they also don't mind the rain! I will only be offering on-lead walks please note. We can play outside and they can sniff around while I potter around nearby, I would always supervise dogs even in enclosed private outdoor areas. I like to offer mental stimulation and would encourage use of your dogs favourite toys and puzzle toys to keep them occupied. I can practice any commands you are working on with them in short fun bursts so they don't feel its a chore. They can also expect lots of cuddles!

Availability
I always keep my calendar updated so you can see when I'm available for the next 4 weeks. I can offer great flexibility so if you're in a pinch its likely I will be able to accommodate at short notice. It is still essential to conduct a short Meet and Greet though. If I need to pop out this will never be for more than a few hours and I will leave them well exercised, with the telly on all their comforts and access to food and water. I will also discuss if this is appropriate with you first and how long you normally leave your pet for. Continuous round the clock care (e.g. for dogs with serious separation anxiety who don't cope well alone even for an hour) is not included as standard in a boarding/sitting/day care booking but can be discussed.
