Pet care experience

Hello! Welcome to my Rover profile! If you are looking for an avid animal lover who will treat your fur baby like family, then you have come to the right page! Since I was a little girl living in Tampa, my family taught me that fur babies are family, and well, the more the merrier! We had basset hounds, mixed breeds, multiple cats and a little dachshund named Pokey. All required special care as they got older - which included alternative methods of walking, handling medication, assistance with potty brakes and making sure they were comfortable. My parents trusted me to handle them with care & compassion, and I use those lessons with my dog Lucy and cat Newt today. FOR THE DOG PEOPLE: I have experience ranging from handicapped/elderly dogs to energetic/hyper dogs. While I grew up with small to medium dogs, I am a-okay with handling large sized dogs as well! I have a medium sized Bassador (Basset/Lab Mix) that never meets a stranger! She loves meeting new fur friends and would love to play with your fur baby in our big private backyard. We love to go on hikes at Turkey Mountain, play with other puppers at Biscuit Acres and meet other fur friends at public places like Guthrie Green. I do also have a cat named Newt. If your dog is not cat-friendly, we can work something out to make sure there are no issues. We do have a large house and have plenty of room for making sure Newt has her own space during your fur baby's stay. I do work full-time (M-F 9 to 5), but when I'm not at work, I am at home with my furbabies or out & about with them! I do practice safe driving procedures when taking my fur baby anywhere in my car. If you are okay with me taking your doggo out and about, they will be safely secured in my vehicle with a safety harness. Safety first! I understand that you might be nervous about having me take care of your fur baby. If you would like, I would love to meet you and your fur baby at a local park to see how our fur babies interact with each other, and to make sure you are comfortable with me taking care of your fur baby. We can also talk about exercise needs, dietary restrictions, special care and details about your fur baby's stay at my place. If you do feel comfortable and you choose me to take care of your pet, I am happy to send photos and updates to you throughout their stay! Send me a message if you would like to get to know me a little better, and possibly set a time to meet with me and my Lucy Girl! FOR THE CAT PEOPLE; I know this website is for taking care of dogs, but let's not forget about the cats in the house! I have had my fair share of cats in my day. My first cat was a calico named Tiki. I picked her out of a box and then she was my cat. Since then, I've taken in four cats. Right now, I have my Newt Kitty and will be welcoming a NEW kitten to the fur bundle, a little baby named Ollie Kitten. Cats and dogs are my jam and I'm completely comfortable taking care of your cat if you need someone to look after them. We have lots of space for your cat to roam, and I've made sure my house is cat proof. We have a big cat tree, tons of kitty nip and toys if your cat is into that. We also have a lovely window for cats to sit and watch birbs attack our birb feeder on our front porch. Our cat Newt gets a kick out of it. I have a dog, Lucy, that is a complete wuss around cats. She's slightly terrified and mesmerized at the same time. She's really good at giving our cat space and respecting the claws. They sometimes get into it, but they've got a real Bonnie and Clyde thing going on. If your comfortable, I'd love to meet your cat in person and see if I can help take care of your cat when needed.

We were very pleased with Elizabeth's boarding services. She let us know when Sydney experienced some anxiety the first night and asked for any tips on making her more comfortable. Fortunately, that passed and Syd played tirelessly with Lucy for the remainder of her stay. She came home calm and contented and even missed her new friend a little. We received regular updates and photos. We'll use Elizabeth's services again!

Elizabeth was amazing ! We could tell she took great care of Wrigley and he enjoyed himself!! Loved receiving several photos and comments about Wrigley during his stay. We will definitely continue using her as needed.

Elizabeth is a loving dog mom to an energetic basset hound/lab mix. She has dog sat for me many times as a favor and I know I can always count on her to take good care of my fur baby. She is attentive, gentle, compassionate and just loves animals in general. I know you won’t be disappointed with her around your pup!!

Information Elizabeth S. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know what I can and cannot do with your dog. I understand that some dogs have anxiety, suffer from ailments due to age, have issues with driving in a car or could be hyperactive in high stimulating situations. I would also like to know if your dog has any dietary restrictions, allergies, medications or exercise needs. Please also let me know your vet phone number so, in the unlikely event of an emergency, I can contact them. I would also prefer to know if your dog interacts well with cats prior to the stay. If not, no problem. We have plenty of room to give our cat for a short period of time! If we are not informed otherwise, we will allow your dog to roam during the day and during the night, we have an 800 sq.ft. wing of our house as dedicated space for your dog. This area has two large sliding glass doors overlooking our backyard, a/c, and a big couch for them to have during the night. If you prefer to have your dog in the bedroom, I can absolutely do that as well!

A typical day

I love taking my dog to Tukey Mountain for some low key hiking. I also love to take her to Biscuit Acres dog park to meet other fur babies and allow her to exercise. When we are not out-and-about, she is usually at my house playing tug of war or ripping another squeaker out of her toys. We love to hang out in our backyard and play! During the summer, we make sure she isn't outside for too long. We have a kiddie pool filled with water on the weekends so she can make a splash if she needs. We do have nice shady trees and room to roam. I have no problem giving your dog a bath as well! You are welcome to have doggy shampoo if you'd like, or we can use our doggy shampoo at our place. I also look for dog-friendly events and festivals around town. Like I said, Lucy knows no stranger and everyone has hands for pets. Walks would generally be around our lovely neighborhood in Broken Arrow, and we'd say "HI" to all of the neighborhood fur babies. If you would like your dog to participate, I'm happy to take them with us on one of our little adventures!
