Quirky and fun pet sitter!

Pet care experience

I have lived with and cared for pets my whole life (dogs, cats, fish, a lizard, and a guinea pig). My mother is a veterinarian, so I have some knowledge of veterinary care. I have fostered pets for a few years as well. I have done both regular fosters, and medical ones. I have some knowledge on dog training, as I have trained my own dogs. However, I am certainly not a professional. I love animals, and will always provide the best care I can for anyone’s pet! Please note, though I am not trained in first aid or CPR, I do have experience with and know some basic pet first aid. I also have never injected medications before, but have seen many times how it’s done, and am willing to learn if you need. Either you can teach me, or I can ask my mom (a veterinarian) for a lesson. :)

Libby is wonderful. She has been amazing with my puppy. Not only does she play with them and let them out, she worked in some basic training skills to on her visits she had a big heart and is very professional.

Libby is a responsible young adult with a multitude of compassion for animals and an uncanny knack for communicating with them. Your beloved pet will be in very capable hands.

In your home, I will care for your pets as you instruct. I always take extensive notes, and will make sure your pet’s routine stays as close to their normal routine as possible.

Information Elizabeth R. would like to know about your pet

I MUST know the following about your pet before I care for them: *Note: I have dealt with all of this and none of them are deal breakers. It just makes sure that I am fully informed of a situation before walking into it* 1) Are they agressive to other pets or people? If I go to put food on the floor, will they try to attack my hand? 2) What are their triggers? For example: will they chase after any car they see, or try to attack any child that comes near them? Will your cats try to dash out the door if they see a squirrel? 4) In general, what commands do they respond to? Yes, this applies to cats. :) 5) Are there any special directions that I need to know? For example, does your dog wear a muzzle, or does your cat need medicine? For dog walking only: 6) Is your dog responsive to commands if they slip their collar? Are they prone to slipping their collar? 7) Does your dog pull a lot, or do they walk well on a leash? 8) Would you like me to work on leash training, or just walk them as they are? If you want me to work on leash training, what treats/rewards may I use to train them? Please note, if there is something about your pet that is important for me to know, and you do not tell me before you hire me, I reserve the right to refuse you service. This information is very important for me to know so I can keep your pet, and others, safe at all times. Failure to tell me could put your pet or others at risk of harm.

A typical day

I will start off the day by taking care of your pet as you instruct. Then, once all of the logistics are taken care of, I will gladly play with every pet who wants to! However they like to play, I will do! If your pet does not want to play, then I will gladly offer pets and cuddles. :) For dogs specifically: I absolutely love hiking with my dog, and would love to offer the same to your pet! Though I am not in the greatest shape, I am also willing to try jogging with your pup on walks to allow for them to expend more energy. I will always offer basic training, if you are interested. I have trained my own dog since she was a puppy, and love teaching her new and exciting tricks to engage her mind and body! Please note, I am not a professional dog trainer, so I make no guarantees to the success of my training.

I currently do not have a routine schedule, as I am a full-time college student who is back for a winter break. I get my work schedule one week in advanced, so as long as I know what times you need me in advanced, I have no problems working around that schedule! As long as you’re willing to work with me around my schedule, I would love to work with you! I am always willing to visit your pets as often as you need as long as I can fit it within my work schedule.
