Dog Trainer & Special Needs Skills

Pet care experience

Growing up with multiple pets in the country I have always had a passion for animals. I am so thrilled to say that I have turned that passion into my career. I am a Certified Dog Trainer (degree from Animal Behavior College), Pet CPR & First Aid Certified, recognized by Blue Buffalo as a skilled Pet Trainer, and by the APSE. After dog training in a facility for 2 years I branched out on my own. I now do one on one basic obedience and behavior modification training regularly using positive reinforcement techniques. I have over 15 years experience working with animals and still continue my education to give your pet the best care I can. I have two dogs who are not just pets to me but are part of my family. I have taken care of pets from dogs to birds and hamsters to snakes. I have also been a volunteer foster parent at the Humane Society of Huron Valley since 2010. I take care of mostly medical fosters and behavioral issue dogs. I am well versed in care for newborn kittens, puppies, mange, and worms. A lot of pets I have taken care of have had special needs. I have experience giving medication including many shots, pills, and inhalers. I understand temperature and time sensitive medication. I love working with blind and deaf dogs as I have come across several during my training career too. Your furry kid is in great hands. Photo or video updates will be messaged daily for sitting and walks/30 minute visits upon request. I am available last minute to care for your pet(s) when your day at work goes late or a last minute vacation. Every visit from me includes clean water checks, walk and or potty breaks, basic training reinforcement, playtimes, lots of loving, and mail retrieval, plant watering, and other house duties upon request. Unfortunately due to association rules and regulations I am unable to board pets at my home at this time. Thank you! I hope to hear from you soon!

When I first got my Siberian Husky puppy, Riley, I was "lovestruck" to say the least. The first week or so I stayed at home enjoying every moment but going forward I was worried as I didn't have a plan for what to do when I ultimately had to return to work. Enter Elizabeth! Elizabeth was able to step in and help out with not only letting Riley out for bathroom breaks during the day but helping to train her as she grew every day. Elizabeth quickly became Riley's favorite person and watching them play together was heartwarming. I knew my little girl was in good hands. As Riley grew she didn't need quite as many visits, but Elizabeth was able to easily adapt to my shifting schedule and help us out for a period of over 2 years on a daily basis. While my personal situation has changed, I still contact Elizabeth whenever I know I'll be heading out of town. The look on Riley's face and the resulting laps around my condo out of excitement when I tell her that Elizabeth is coming over let me know I made the right choice. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth as she'll provide the care your pet needs while also being personally involved in their fun and development.
