Having experienced what it means to be a busy college student, full time employee, or just wanting a week off for vacations, I know how important it is to consider the needs of your animal while you are unable to, despite wanting to. I am here to help solve this problem by helping you come home to a happy, tired pup so you don't have to feel guilty with your busy schedule! My experience with these scheduling conflicts has afforded me the practice in taking care of animals between work hours but has also educated me on the importance of proper exercise and challenging the minds of dogs. I have a lot of experience taking care of dogs for people experiencing the circumstances listed above. I have experience in all ranges of ages of dogs, as well as breeds and personalities. While under my care, I think it is important to note that I value and practice "positive reinforcement" as a training mechanism rather than the more aggressive approaches such as yelling or physical correction. My dog, Maple, is incredibly friendly, happy, and well-socialized. She is a 2-year old Labrador retriever who has an affinity for tennis balls and playing in water. Occasionally on hot days we fill a kiddie pool for her to play around in, which she would love to have a buddy to join her! We are continually working on maintaining her trick abilities to sit, lay, stay, jump, shake, play "dead dog" and come. If there are any trainings you are specifically working on, let me know and I will make sure we follow your hand-motions, commands, and treat distribution to ensure we do not break any important habits! During the week I work 8-5 Monday-Friday but come home during lunch to walk my own dog or toss the tennis ball for an hour. After work my usual routine is to either take my pup running, swimming, or chasing the tennis ball which lasts for an extended time based on energy level. I will practice this same method with your dog unless you specify otherwise (i.e. injury, age, etc. does not allow much distance or high energy requires further distances). I live with my husband and his good friend, so at any point in time during the weekends someone is almost always home. During the week we all work M-F 8-5, occasionally working flexible schedules which would allow earlier departure or later arrival.
