Pet care experience
I grew up in a home filled with lots of pets to love. I currently share my home with two spoiled kitties, and have prior experience owning dogs, cats, ferrets, parakeets, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, and fish. I love reptiles, amphibians, and all types of pets, although I have more experience with mammals and fish. When I had ferrets, I learned how challenging it can be hard to find a sitter for animals deemed "exotic" in Juneau, and I look forward to caring for all types and sizes of pets. I have a truck with back seats and a covered bed, so I can safely and comfortably transport animals of all shapes and sizes in my own vehicle. This is most relevant for large dogs that need walks in the rain.

I'm so glad I found Elizabeth to walk my dog while I'm at work! I was instantly reassured my dog was in great hands from our meet-and-greet, and the first walk I booked with Elizabeth. She has been excellent with communication - I always know when walks start and end, what his mood was like, and lets me know if they saw squirrels (my dog loves squirrels, so those are his best days outside). She takes the time to narrate what happened on their adventures, and she shares really beautiful photos every day. I am so RELIEVED I found someone I trust and be kind to my best friend. Before taking care of your pet, I like to know what their eating schedules are and whether they have food sensitivities or physical limitations. I appreciate if every client can explain expectations for physical activity of their pet each day and whether their pet enjoys snuggles or prefers to just have a person nearby. If your pet has anxiety around adults, children, other dogs or other species of animals, I need to know. I have no breed preferences. Any additional information that an owner can provide is welcomed.
A typical day
I love hiking, biking, and jogging with pets on trails around Juneau. I am able and willing to work out whatever type of adventure your pet needs, from trekking up Mt. Juneau to cuddling on the couch. I can offer up to a 10 mile jaunt with your pet each day, with prices that will vary accordingly. I have a strict policy of keeping all dogs on leash when I walk them, even if they usually run off leash with their owners. Therefore, I ask that every owner provide a safe and comfortable leash with a collar or harness for any pet they wish to be walked outside.

I have a flexible work schedule, and sometimes work from home. My flexibility makes me a great option for pet owners setting things up far in advance or at the last minute. Prices vary based on driving distance to each pet, as well as the amount of care requested.
