Very experienced and friendly!

Pet care experience

I've fostered and pet sat since I was 12 years old. I know how to love and care for cats and dogs more than anything else and have done the schooling to become a veterinary technician.

Elizabeth is absolutely amazing with animals. She has watched not only my personal pets for me, but even helped out when I needed someone to fill in with foster animals I have had in my care. She has done great with a litter of 8 puppies, bottle fed kittens, and helped a momma cat and her litter. For my pets, she is so good at letting a cat warm up to her at their own pace, and provides them lots of love and playtime, and takes dogs on great walks, mine always comes home exhausted. I was so nervous to leave my babies but they are always so excited to see her and I feel like they are almost disappointed when I get back!

About Elizabeth E.

Skills

9 years of experience
Oral medication administration
Injected medication administration
First aid/CPR
Senior dog experience
Can provide daily exercise

Safety, trust & environment

I own a black shepherd but she has such bad PTSD from the shelter that she cannot be around other animals so I don't allow them in my home but am more than willing to travel to other homes and watch their animals. I'm good with crate-training and frequent potty breaks as needed. I write all instructions down and follow them religiously. If I have any pertinent questions I will not hesitate to reach out, however that rarely is required.

Information Elizabeth E. would like to know about your pet

I prefer handwritten or typed schedules and important information about each animal in my care. If your pet is a tiny kitten that cannot latch, I know how to tube-feed and am able to get up every hour to two hours as necessary. Similarly with young puppies and elderly dogs I am able to get up even every half hour if necessary. Whatever they need to feel safe and comfortable is what I will do.

A typical day

I will play with dogs all day every day if I can. Fetch is my favorite game with them and I can be very intuitive when it comes to how a dog is feeling and whether or not they need more attention or a break. Cats tend to like me and I have been told that I'm somewhat of an animal whisperer. I know the signs of distress that cats and dogs both can have and generally know what to do in stressful situations, such as a dog fight.

Pets are my calling. My favorite thing in the world was the ability to dog sit 55 dogs in one place without any fighting or negativity. I've learned how to work with cats and dogs in a veterinary setting as well but decided pet sitting was a lot more fun since most animals don't like to be at the vet.
