Pet care experience
Animals have always been part of my life. Lived on a farm for many years and am very familiar with the manners and life cycles of dogs. Studied canid behaviour in association with Amherst College, Massachusetts and participated in the Livestock Dog Project under Dr Ray Coppinger. Have imported, raised, showed and bred Tibetan Mastiffs before they were a recognised breed. At this time I own young Alyss who is kept in line by Mumsey, my 16 year old cat. I am currently retired and would be at home pretty well 24/7 and would welcome the opportunity to care for little souls while their owners are unable to. As a bonus, in the good weather there is always the possibility of short trips to either the local dog parks or in the warmer months, an acreage on a private lake in the Gatineau.

After a successful meet & greet, I knew Faith was in good hands. When I said good bye, I don’t think she even noticed my leaving, she was so happy to be there with her new buddy Alyss! Thanks so much for taking such great care of my fur baby!
Elizabeth would make a great dog walker or sitter for Rover. She has been a neighbour of mine for two years during which time I have observed ELizabeth to be terrific with pets. She engages socially with all dogs and has a great deal of knowledge about pets. I know this because I watch my friends dogs & my children’s dogs who she has interacted with often. Breed, sex, age, whether it was a rescue or grew up with the same family. Any behavioural or health problems, dietary advice. Emergency contact numbers and name of vet. Proof that all shots are up to date as well as flea and tick control. I generally prefer companion and sedentary breeds. Dogs that won't run away.
A typical day
Weather permitting, walks along the Aviation Pathway, through Beechwood Cemetery or the Rockcliffe Dog Park, and even up to the lake in the Gatineau on a good day. Paddleboarding, swimming - is all possible in the summer months at the lake.....
