Dutch’s Pet Care

Pet care experience

For over 55 years there’s always been a dog or cat in residence that joins in walking and hiking and adventures. Dutchess is a very social and loves play partners. I have a warm comfy home with a doggy door that leads to a fenced back yard and at least twice a day we walk the neighborhood, rain or shine!

I have known Liz for over 10 years. During that time I saw her care for and elder cat who passed away at 20 years of age! After a time of mourning, Liz adopted a shelter dog who was not socialized and turned her into a loving and obedient pet. Liz’s calm demeanor makes her a perfect pet companion.

Elizabeth was great with Karma. She took very good care of Karma, sent lots of pictures, exercised and played with her. I would definitely love to have her sit my dog again.

We just love Elizabeth! She’s just like a little mama to our pets. (Seriously). She loves on them, plays with them, talks to them, takes them for walks, feeds them & hydrates them just as tho they are her babies. She keeps them comfortable and safe. Her home is a clean & safe environment. It’s nice to be able to go away and not have to worry Becuz we know our pets are having fun and are in a safe, loving environment., Barbara B.

Elizabeth “Liz” is one of the most caring pet parents I know. She rescued her own dog, Dutchess and that girly has been living her best life! Liz is caring, Conscientious, considerate & flexible. She will take care of your pets as if they were her own.

I have a 75x25 foot fenced in yard with a large doggy door that is open, unless the weather is extreme. Dutchess has proven herself to have a great disposition with other pets, and she thinks every dog and cat is her friend. I provide a safe, fun and active environment for pets, and they receive lots of love and kudos on a regular basis.

Information Elizabeth B. would like to know about your pet

It’s important to know a dog’s personality and temperament, level of preferred activity, and diet before booking and arrival. This is an active household and to accommodate different doggy lifestyles it is important a dog’s medical and vaccination history and if it has protection from fleas and ticks, as well as its social tendencies and preferences.

A typical day

Dutchess is a very smart and active dog. She gets up ready to go out the doggy door, and when she has checked out the grounds it is time for breakfast. Then it’s time to head out for a walk in our quiet and dog friendly neighborhood. There are many trails in the area and several creeks and ponds to visit and play at. Throughout the rest of the day and evening, dogs are free to come and go through the doggie door to the fenced yard. Periodically, there’s a run through of dog training and (approved) doggie treats. At bedtime, Dutch and any dog friends sleep in dog beds on the floor either in the bedroom or whatever room they prefer (unless they prefer kennels).

Availability

I am volunteer outside the home three mornings a week, but just gone for 2.5 hours. Dogs get walked and outside playtime each morning and on my return and the rest of the day the doggy door is open for them to come and go to the backyard as they wish, unless the weather is bad. There are dog toys and bouncy balls and plenty of space for playtime. The walk time is something I schedule into each day and is equally beneficial.
