Vet tech caring for your pets

Pet care experience

Growing up I spent most of my week volunteering at my local animal shelter where I walked dogs and spent time with the cats in their care. After graduating high school, I worked in the ICU at a rhino orphanage and wildlife rehab in South Africa where I worked round-the-clock to care for injured and orphaned wildlife. After returning from South Africa, I spent a year nannying and dog-sitting for multiple families on a regular basis. The majority of this included staying in their homes and caring for their pets while they were away. After this I began college, where I am a studying wildlife conservation and environmental science. During this time, I spent 2 months interning at a farm sanctuary where I ran the cat/dog shelter and cared for the farm animals. I have worked as a veterinary technician for the past 2 years and can administer medication, i.v. fluids, and any other tasks that your pet may need. I have cared for wild animals, cats, dogs, chickens, farm animals, hamsters, mice/rats, and birds. Animals have been my calling for most of my life, and I would love to spend my time caring for your pets. Please feel free to reach out!

Eliza worked for us for several years doing both childcare and pet care. She is highly caring and responsible, well-loved by children, and really understands how to take care of and train animals. Your pets will be in good hands with Eliza.

Eliza loves dogs. And dogs love Eliza. I have seen her care for a very wide variety of dogs over many years, including ours. She is experienced, knowledgeable (having worked in a vet clinic for years), and responsible. She has gone over and beyond to care for ours and friends' dogs, whether playing, feeding, walking, or otherwise attending to them. She has had to give our dog medication and was very gentle and efficient in doing so. In short, Eliza is expert at caring for dogs both emotionally and physically.

Eliza is the most qualified dog/cat sitter out there. She is an extremely responsible, kind and loving person and has a multitude of experience as a pet caregiver. Her passion for animals has always been a huge part of her ethos. She is studying wildlife conservation but has been caring for animals since the age of 11 years old. She has volunteered at animal shelters, worked abroad with endangered species, and house sat cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. She has always taken wonderful care of my dog, and I think my dog might even love her more than me! Can’t recommend her highly enough.

While I do not have a space to care for your pets in my home, I am happy to care for them in the comfort of their own homes. Animals value their connections and time with their humans, and I am here to help ease their discomfort as best as I can while you are away. This includes feeding, administering medication, walks, playtime, quality time, and anything else your pet may need. If there are any questions, please reach out to me and I will be happy to answer them!

Information Eliza M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any medical needs or behavioral quirks ahead of time. This can include behavioral issues or aggression (food aggression, territorial), fear of strangers, sensitive to loud noises, does not like to be touched near ears, etc. The more I know, the better I am able to care for your pet! This is a judgement free zone, and I am able to deal with pets with these concerns, I just need to know ahead of time so I can be prepared! :)

A typical day

Depending on what your dogs prefers, I can take them on runs or walks, trips to the park, vet visits or grooming appointments, and interactive feeding or games that help exercise their minds which is just as important as physical exercise! I am also happy to work on some training commands with puppies if that is desirable. Anything desired but not mentioned above can likely be included, just message me beforehand and we can discuss options!
