Pet care experience
I have been caring for dogs for about 10 years and animals for over 15 years. I'm a former zookeeper (5 years), veterinary assistant (10 years), and currently work at Joint Animal Services in Lacey. I've owned 3 dogs, cats, ferrets, hamsters, and gerbils. I love little cuddly dogs and am willing to spend time winning them over if they're a little shy. I can medicate animals if needed. My dog loves playing with other dogs so it's an added bonus if your dog also loves playing with other dogs. I’m only able to board in my home under specific and limited circumstances but I’m able to watch your pets in your home and am happy to provide references if requested.

I chose Elissa based on her experience and reviews. I couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of my 15 year old, 60 pounds dog. She met with us beforehand to meet Kobi and go over everything and took notes, which made me feel comfortable Kobi 's routine would be followed. Kobi needed medication every morning, which involved splitting doses, along with her multiple-ingredient breakfast and dinner ever night in addition to walks which involved quite a bit of adeptness to get through a very rickety gate and applying paw pads because my girl sometimes has trouble getting herself up off the laminate floor any more. I only hired Elissa to stay overnight so breakfast and dinner and the dog door would be covered and had friends visit during the middle of the day to make sure Kobi was successful in getting herself around. Unfortunately, this resulted in Elissa getting locked out once, but she resolved it by crawling through the dog door. I felt terrible this happened, but Elissa seemed to take it all in stride! Not many people would have handled it with such grace. She sent me updates and pictures and always answered questions and requests. Kobi sheds terribly, and I fully expected to return to the laminate looking like a gray carpet, but everything was as clean or cleaner than when I left. She cleaned, ran the dishwasher and took out the trash without being asked. Elissa is the perfect sitter!
I can’t say enough good things about Elissa. First time having her house/cat sit but she was outstanding. She communicated well and sent pics daily. Our smoke alarm was beeping all night that she had to listen to and once we let her know where the batteries were, she changed them. The house was spotless and she even washed the sheets and towels, ran the dishwasher she watered the outside flower pots and took trash cans out. She was able to administer meds to the cat. We’ll definitely be asking her back if the need should arise.

Let me know if your pet has any special needs that I can accommodate. I am comfortable with older animals that may need help getting up or can’t see well and medications are no problem. I will also need to know about their routines, eating habits, any commands that they know, how they react to other animals while on walks and similar information.
A typical day
Whatever your pet requires, I can provide. Walks, fetch, sniffaris, food puzzles, belly rubs, scratches, toy play, whatever they need. They may also get extra treats ?.

Availability
I do work full time so your pets would have to be ok being left alone for a workday. In some situations, if the owner isn’t comfortable leaving them that long, there may be a neighbor who could let the dog(s) out midday.
