Responsible and flexible pet lover

Pet care experience

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Elissa - I’m a transplant from Massachusetts. I moved to Michigan after graduating from UMass Amherst for a job, and then made my way to Burlington. If I have a job, why am I on rover? Well, it’s simple. I LOVE dogs. My pup passed away in February and since then I’ve had a real lack of dogs in my life. Maybe you can help. I’ve been a Rover for a little over 4 years now. I’ve done it all - overnights, walks several times a day, vet visits, even special needs care. There’s nothing I’m not willing to take on. If you recognize me, it’s because I work for a local TV station :) I work Wednesday thru Friday, 9-5, and weekends from 2 am to 10 am. Fortunately, those hours allow me to be pretty flexible and free. I’m extremely responsive and responsible - I’m available at any time that you need me and love to send pictures to owners. I’ll give updates several times a day, extra belly rubs or pats, and tons of snuggles.

We were out a dog/house sitter days before our vacation. We lucked out when we stumbled on Rover.com. Our pup is an older dog with a number of issues. While he didn’t need hours of catch or long walks, he did require special care. Elissa’s attention to detail and thoughtful communication allowed us to take the family vacation we’d been hoping for, with a peace of mind we didn’t expect. We are incredibly grateful and will definitely use Elissa in the future, and recommend her to others.

Elissa was pleasant, prompt and communicative. She immediately bonded with our 16 year old very tempermental dog. We were 100% pleased and will use her again.

Elissa has been our dog sitter since she was 13 years old. We have always found her to be a flexible, reliable, and responsible young lady. Elissa has done whatever we need - from walking Bode (a very large and energetic chocolate lab) or throwing his ball for endless hours to feeding him or snuggling with him on the floor for belly rubs. Our favorite part is that while we are away, she texts us pictures of our little man and keeps us posted on his daily activities. Recently, she has also begun to care for our chickens and ducks as well. Elissa's bright smile and friendly, gentle demeanor are sure to gain the trust of even the most timid of pets. Without reservation, I highly recommend Elissa for your pet care needs.

Elissa would be a great dog sitter because she is a very mature and extremely responsible young lady. Her love and affection for dogs are evident when you see her interact with them. She is prompt and will always follow through on her assignments so you can be assured when you hire her she will take care of your very special family member.

Information Elissa B. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences - I believe the breed doesn't impact the demeanor of the dog, but rather it's upbringing. I only need to know bathroom break schedules, feeding schedules and quantities, and where you keep the leash. Your dog MUST be friendly. No aggressive barking each time I walk in the house and no biting.

A typical day

I love talking pups for walks, either around the block or maybe even on a path! I have experience working with disabled dogs or senior pups, so maybe if walking isn’t their thing anymore then we can figure out something else to do :) I love to take dogs for car rides and maybe get a doggy cone, if they're allowed! I'll play fetch until your pooch gives up, give oodles of belly rubs, and talk to them as if they understand what I'm saying.
