Welcome! My name is Elise Raney, and I am the owner of Pups & Peaks. I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, you could find me catching lizards, befriending the neighborhood cats, or watching up on the latest episode of Crocodile Hunter. My love for animals eventually culminated in receiving my Bachelor's degree in Animal Behavior from Texas A&M University. During my time in college, and after, I worked at dog (and cat) boarding facilities where I was able to learn about the specifics of dog behavior. These jobs eventually allowed me to land a job as a Zookeeper at the Austin Zoo where I had the pleasure of working with everything from goats to Black Bears. After a few years at the zoo, I moved to Colorado to enjoy the abundance of outdoor activities. Today, you can find me hiking, backpacking (Colorado Trail Class of 2017), or looking for my next fitness venture. I created Pups & Peaks to follow my passion for animals and enjoy the gorgeous mountains surrounding Colorado Springs with my favorite furry friends. I promise to treat all of your fur (or not so furry) babies like they are my own. I look forward to meeting you!
